"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

If there's a seat available for 1.5 million points or whatever, you could get a "discount" and redeem it at CR rates once a year.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I was idly wondering if something like a guaranteed return J/F seat at CR rates, once a year per member, on any flight they wanted (subject to general availability) would work. Yes they have 15 million members or whatever but most of those wouldn't actually have enough points to redeem J to...

    Qantas seat selection issue

My impression is once the flight is under airport control any similarities with information shown online is just a coincidence

Qantas Club discount for AFF Gold & Platinum members

There's also rumours of Qantas introducing a monthly plan; might be worth holding on and trying to scrounge entry passes unless you have a lot of travel planned.

    Premium Economy vs Economy Food

From memory they also have a small snack menu with real food available outside of the meal times, as opposed to chips/chocolates.

Lots of Unhappy Vegemites on delayed QF 11 SYD-LAX

Make the most of it and go for an In'n'Out burger and a nice walk on the Santa Monica Pier. There are worse places to have to fill in a day.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

On MEL-SYD the other day in J, the FA came to my partner and I and discreetly offered us first choice from the lunch menu. Nice to know that even as a lowly LTG it's still possible to outrank everyone else in the business cabin

    Pre departure drinks

I always found pre-departure drinks very rushed on QF domestic anyway. I'm not that desperate for alcohol that I can't wait 15 minutes or so.

International Flex Fare = Saver Conditions For Changes

Well the point is the cheaper fares have sold out on those services. You always have the choice to book other services where cheaper fares are still available :)

    Baggage allowances to Africa

But you wouldn't get the 3 bag allowance on EK if it was a QF issued ticket, so I don't think the MSC rule can magically change that. It would only be if the SIN-DXB leg was an EK flight number I think.

Downgraded without notification - what are my options?

Last minute shift change? I imagine these things happen frequently. Dunno though.

Downgraded without notification - what are my options?

My understanding is it's in the enterprise agreement that deadheading pilots get J. Qantas don't have much room to move here, even if that means displacing a P1.
