I was idly wondering if something like a guaranteed return J/F seat at CR rates, once a year per member, on any flight they wanted (subject to general availability) would work.
Yes they have 15 million members or whatever but most of those wouldn't actually have enough points to redeem J to...
There's also rumours of Qantas introducing a monthly plan; might be worth holding on and trying to scrounge entry passes unless you have a lot of travel planned.
On MEL-SYD the other day in J, the FA came to my partner and I and discreetly offered us first choice from the lunch menu. Nice to know that even as a lowly LTG it's still possible to outrank everyone else in the business cabin
Well the point is the cheaper fares have sold out on those services. You always have the choice to book other services where cheaper fares are still available :)
But you wouldn't get the 3 bag allowance on EK if it was a QF issued ticket, so I don't think the MSC rule can magically change that. It would only be if the SIN-DXB leg was an EK flight number I think.
My understanding is it's in the enterprise agreement that deadheading pilots get J. Qantas don't have much room to move here, even if that means displacing a P1.
