    Codeshare question

Finnair operate the flight between HEL and SIN, they're not likely to sell you a codeshare on a flight they operate themselves. The only way would be to book through Qantas.

Qantas Club Lifetime Membership Benefits Removal

I bought it at the same age (although it was early 2000s). Then I got gold about 3-4 years later and have never been lower than that since. Now have lifetime gold. So for me, rather than foresight, life membership was a complete waste of money

    Qantas Family Points Transfer Expiry

Unfortunately I think they are gone, the only way I've heard of Qantas reinstating expired points is via some sort of challenge (earn X points in Y different ways within 3 months or something) and it seems unlikely your daughter would be able to fulfill that. For future reference, you can...

    Qantas club changes?

Priority check-in effectively disappeared domestically when they rolled out the q-tags and self-service baggage check in, really.

    Why was I upgraded?

My only (that I remember) international op up was on SYD-EZE in the same conditions; booked in Y+ and op up to J without any explanation. Coming back we got J seating but with Y+ service so I have yet to actually sit in a Y+ seat!

    Strategy to obtain UK Amex

It was a new application - I kept my Australian amex cards. At the time I applied I was living in the UK so I had a permanent address, and was able to provide a bill (council tax) with my name and address on it. I have a UK offshore bank account which I can pay the Amex from but Amex themselves...

    Strategy to obtain UK Amex

My own experience, getting a UK Amex was easy, you really just need a UK address and to actually be in the UK for a while in case they call you (they called me about 3 days after I applied). The BA card is fine, it's free, you get the usual Amex offers (and there are heaps more of them in the...

ACCC action re cancelled Qantas flights

I think QF are taking a risk here. If their Contract of Carriage winds up being ruled unenforceable by the Federal Court it's going to open up a much bigger can of worms for them.

New Qantas route - Perth to Paris from July 2024

It makes sense they would go high initially on a new route to try to establish what people are willing to pay for a non-stop flight. I imagine there'll be sale fares eventually.

New Qantas route - Perth to Paris from July 2024

Yes it's a toss-up which is worse, at least LHR has better OW lounges.

Lounge entry under Oneworld with different Frequent Flyer on Pass

Nice to see AFF still follows the "why have 2 posts in a thread when 7 will do" rule ;)

Lounge entry under Oneworld with different Frequent Flyer on Pass

Yes as long as the QR ticket has a QR flight number, access is based on your QFF membership tier, not the program you're crediting to.

    LAX 14 hour transit, suggestions?

A friend has a 14 hour transit in LAX, arriving at about 7am, and has asked me for advice on how she can spend the time that doesn't mean sitting at the gate. Are there any hotels at or near LAX with reasonable day rates? They have no lounge access but are prepared to pay for one, but it seems...

Worst Domestic Qantas Lounges & What Can be Done About It?

At least you were allowed in! Still the only lounge in the network I've been denied access to due to overcrowding.

Qantas denied boarding, BA rebooked on another carrier -> no points

I don't understand how BA can cancel boarding passes for a flight on QF booked via QF.

    Upgrade family member - how?

Does anyone have a link to the "upgrade a family member" page on the Qantas website? This used to be obvious but I can't find it anywhere now. The only page I've found is https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/use-points/classic-upgrade-rewards.html which has an "UPGRADE NOW" button on it...

    Qantas Business Money

I don't think so, I think you have to initiate a transfer (and therefore have an account) to see the rate. But for example, I took these screenshots at the same time, just a few minutes ago: Qantas 1000 AUD = 664.57 EUR XE 1000 AUD = 655.22 EUR I have been using HiFX/XE for years so I was...
