    The House v QF F

QF Flounge wins hands down. I've only been to The House once but was very disappointed with the food offer that day (although can't remember the menu). The bartender was quite good and drinks list good but no comparison to Qantas F. The lounge itself is also a bit sterile. Same as all the other...

Anyone claimed anything on credit card travel insurance?

Agree. In fact, took Avis 5mths to bill me for the damage and 1 week for AMEX Insurance (Chubb) to reimburse.

I just recently had a great experience with AMEX Platinum insurance for a hire car issue.

Where to take my 22 year old son for a short break.

My suggestion given length and time of year would be to keep it close and go to Queenstown. You can ski/snowboard in the day and go out for dinner/drinks in the night. At this age, it may be your last holiday with him so pick somewhere you can bond but won't get too sick of each other.

Auckland QF J lounge is disgustingly filthy, worn out, and with s*^t food. Get it remodelled now Qantas!

I wonder if it was a fellow AFFer who helped update the First Lounge shower Out Of Order sign.

EU angers UK with support for Spain's Gibraltar airport claims

N Not incorrect, but that vertical axis is a little deceptive. It masks the fact that 45% of exports were still going to the EU in 2013 - thats a big number.

    BestJet in Administration

As a merchant, I've previously been told that 120 days is the claim period for fraud but non-delivery of service is 120 days from the point of the service or the point at which you notified the customer of non-service. So if you book a service 6mths in advance, the 120 days is on top of the...

    How do I add USM-HKG onto a SYD-HKG-SYD?

For anyone looking back over the thread in future, on the day I was able to get PG to connect my luggage from USM-HKG-SYD. This was two seperate PNRs in Y with PG for USM-HKG and J with QF for HKG-SYD. Even though I had read reports online that PG were no longer checking luggage through for...

    Issues with TripIt

No issues from me either. I primarily use the app and never have issues. I do recall having issues using the website when connected to a personal VPN but no issues behind the work VPN or using normal connection.

    How do I add USM-HKG onto a SYD-HKG-SYD?

Can anyone help with a creative solution to a problem I have. I've got SYD-HKG-SYD booked in J on QF which was booked during a double SC offer. I now want to add a HKG-USM-HKG flight. USM-HKG arrives in HKG at 4pm and HKG-SYD departs at 11:30pm. I don't mind the transit, but I worry that if I...

Govt cracks down on airport TRS rebates for Aust travellers

I had an interesting experience at Sydney TRS a few weeks ago. A person ahead of me was told that their details were being sent to the ATO and the ATO would review prior to the refund being processed. The person person lodging the claim did seem to be a genuine tourist and I don't think he...

    Double-charged by VA

While transactions are pending, it's not uncommon to see two line items for the same charge. This is usually because the business is doing an "auth" and then a "charge". For example, one purchase path can be: 1) $100 auth - checking that customer has $100 in their account for a transaciton. If...

QFF membership name change - how?

I found that some airlines couldn't handle the apostrophe and that caused my passenger name to be different to frequent flyer name. While retro claims and changes at checkin were annoying the tipping point was actually a change that happened at Velocity. All of a sudden I started having my...

QFF membership name change - how?

I think you'll need to call for that one. I have made a minor change (removing an apostrophe because computers kept struggling with it) to my name before and that was easily done over the phone.

IBERIA flouting EU261. Any recommendations or success?

I had an issue earlier this year where I was forced to pay for an extra bag with Iberia when my QF status entitled me to a free bag. It was a contract check-in agent who just kept telling me computer says no, so I simply paid and submitted an email later requesting a refund. I ran into the same...
