I certainly agree with Bose QC15 being excellent. My advice is that if you do decide to go with Bose, buy them from Amazon. You'll have to redirect through a freight forwarder (I use myus.com) but they're only US$299!

I'm considering flying EY on DPS-AUH-DUB-AUH-SYD in J. The DPS-AUH leg is via KUL with KUL-AUH on an EY flight number and EY metal. For DPS-AUH it is EY flight number on MH metal. So my question is, will I be able to earn Velocity Points and SCs?

I only have experience with HSW, but I've found that RCA cable is the only way to go. While there is a spare DVI port on the TV, without the manufacturer's remote I couldn't work out a way to get the TV to switch to the DVI signal. Best bet is to switch the TV to DVD mode and and use RCA cables...

That's the Qantas argument too. But you can understand that a Qantas Club member who did receive lounge access at OOL when they first joined would feel that their benefits has been eroded when the Qantas Group operated lounge at OOL is no longer open to them.

Slightly off-topic, but if you're looking for voice control for maps (plus turn-by-turn navigation) Google's Android voice control and maps are brilliant. I've had a Google/Samsung Nexus S for close to a year now and found it to be amazing.
