Not sure if it's still the case, but at BNE, QF requests umbrellas to be put in the tray, while JQ and VA do not. Seems dumb having inconsistencies when they lead to the same secure area...

I rather like the range of films, it's just a shame that my usual flights are too short to watch in one sitting. Interesting move pricing it higher than the train, sure there's no competition after 10pm but during the day? I guess they're banking on the hotel delivery being the selling point. I see from their price list that Roma St is still $15, but "selected stops" is $20.

Actually once online check in opens you can select seats repeatedly without finalizing the check in. As a gold, at booking I usually select in row 7. Then at T-48 I move as far forward as I can (row 4 or 5, depending how busy the flight is). Then at T-24 or later, seats in rows 3 or 4 might open...

I find it almost always works at BNE domestic, almost never at SYD domestic. The wildly differing experiences here suggest the dominant factor is something other than which airport.
