WOW/COL/WES up today presumably expecting interest rate cut tomorrow, but banks down. I wonder why, I would have thought that they would likewise be beneficiaries.

Virgin Australia UpgradeMe pricing and success

This really is a "prisoner's dilemma" game isn't it. If everyone bid the minimum, the same total number of people will be successful, but at a lower price. Fascinating.

    Amex Rejection earning $300k

Maybe a generalisation by them, as I've had wbc black approved twice since retiring, latest a few months ago. But I do have income. So I don't think employment status, or lack thereof, is very relevant. I also believe that the source of income is factored, eg (and I'm just making up the %...

What are you reading right now?

I think he was pilloried for doing that, but made a lot of money nevertheless. State Library NSW has a (complete!) 1st edition and later editions too, were on display last year. More recently many old books were lost, broken up just to sell off the hand coloured plates. Coincidently just this...

    Wise debit card

So au card in Google Wallet might work at UK petrol stations but not at US "gas" stations?

    Wise debit card

OT but I'd really like to know more about your comment on petrol station prepayments, that while au issued cards don't work, using that same card on say Google Wallet does work (£50 limited)? That would avoid a big hassle, I wonder if it's the same in USA.

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

Reminds me of AirNZ trying to sell Ansett for $1...+it's debt including the extra debt ANZ piled on it in the last months. I hope that the gov isn't financially naive.

Or you could have asked, we're actually nice, helpful guys. Yes really. Sorry OT but have had a qf b747 pilot actually Refuse a conditional clearance...at old BN airport, hot summer day, said he "required" a rolling start. So as expected a spectacular takeoff to watch.

Credit Card Offers HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card: Fast-Track to Star Alliance Gold Status

My question is about max the expiry date of the Aeroplan points earned via SA. Not sure if this should be here or the Aeroplan thread, I note the new thread at the top of this page specifies for the SA App. Primarily for VA lounge access, last April I received the HSBC credit card, opened a...

Midair collision between Helicopter and CRJ (AA5342) at Washington (DCA)

Maybe not important to some who see through the words, to others sets a scenario. If "Mountain collides with aircraft" sounds odd then that shows the implication of word placement.

High Court reveals every current judge is a member of Qantas' Chairman's Lounge

Bit harsh. I agree the likes of judges and ACCC chairman shouldn't accept such commercial gifts but I think it's a case of apprehended bias, and not that it would cause actual bias.

Think about whether that is a good technique, leaving a sell order in. Could be like the opposite of a Stop Loss, i.e. a "Stop Gain". Another way is when there's upward momentum, let them go for their run and when they've run out of puff sell... which yes will be less than their high. Just...
