Airports absurdly close to the city

Flown into GIB twice, have relatives who work in Gib, live in Spain, so have actually dragged luggage over the runway a couple of times, as well as crossing on scooter and car. The airport tunnel finally opened in 2023 after a lot of issues between Gibraltar and Spain, but believe one can...

Buying a phone from overseas - what do I need to know so that it is compatible with use in Oz with a Telstra SIM?

That's also a huge battery in the request list... most are sub 5000mAh.

Buying a phone from overseas - what do I need to know so that it is compatible with use in Oz with a Telstra SIM?

Think it's more there aren't a lot of tough/rugged phones full stop. Equally there are good quality rugged cases out there (eg. Otterbox) but they only seem to support the Apple/ Samsung range, whereas I think the OP is after more of a sub-$500 phone.

    Qantas A220 Flight Review/s

That's the domestic standard. 321XLRs also coming without IFE. Refurb of 737s will remove screens. Saves weight in screens and wiring and means in 10yrs, let alone longer, the screens don't look ancient.

Buying a phone from overseas - what do I need to know so that it is compatible with use in Oz with a Telstra SIM?

Searched Oukitel there and no-one seems to have recently bought them. In order of working it seems Tesltra is better than Voda with Optus the most restrictive. This thread covera Xiaomi models for example. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/36yz4vrw

Buying a phone from overseas - what do I need to know so that it is compatible with use in Oz with a Telstra SIM?

Unfortunately thats changed recently with the shutdown of 3G and various operators interpreting ACMA guidance differently on accessibility of Emergency numbers Whirlpool forum has lots more info. Lots of people with issues with Sony and Xiaomi phones if I recall.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Was the case last year, but not this year. The 3-4/wk in Aus winter to continue PER-FCO commences in SYD as QF5 which I think picked up in that summary.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Was more of a 1-2 yr forward looking statement, once QF gets a decent number of 321XLRs, and the 332s are mostly refurbed to the new international config with IFE and six 332s leaving the fleet (exact timing unknown) But it is gradually happening. For 1-Jul for example BNE-PER is already 5 737s...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Was a pretty short flight. This site lists it as a 3rd flight - https://aviation.flights/aib/A320/12323/ Whereas it lists this 2nd flight for Jetstar 320N as a customer acceptance flight. (To be VH-A5D) https://aviation.flights/aib/A320/12545 No idea on the reliability of that info

Buying a phone from overseas - what do I need to know so that it is compatible with use in Oz with a Telstra SIM?

To guarantee it works look for a common locally sold phone that can get a tough case. Of current Androids this Motorola is good value at $349 (can get cheaper at OW if you price beat) https://www.harveynorman.com.au/motorola-edge-50-neo-pantone-grisaille.html Mid ranger, wireless charging...

    Qantas First Class menus

Somewhat disappointing for flights departing 4.5hrs apart (QF1 scheduled 1450 departure). Was the main meal served quickly or were they at least delaying until a normal Aus lunchtime?

Changi - different types of boarding passes for transit?

Think the own stock boarding passes are often as much for crew familiarity in knowing where to look to confirm flight details etc. QF always used to love reprinting any AA passes at LAX.
