Qantas' Impending Change to Tokyo Flight Schedule

I would imagine they are getting smashed with calls due to Qld cyclone.

I wouldn’t mess with it to be honest. Bird in the hand.

    Pickpocketed in Bangkok: by Qantas

Possible I guess, but it would be unusual way to deal with a simple date change on a flex ticket. Certainly shouldn’t be done this way without the passengers consent or the passenger requesting it. Isn’t there some provision that once the itinerary has commenced, then the airline doesn’t have...

    Pickpocketed in Bangkok: by Qantas

It was essentially a double charge. The passenger already had a fully paid flex ticket for the trip home. Pretty poor show by Qantas here.

    Pickpocketed in Bangkok: by Qantas

It would be extremely unfair and dishonest to put it on them. It is in no way their fault and they appear to have had no knowledge of this. As I understand it, the OP made his own changes directly with the airline, and the airline (or contractor) stuffed it up.

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

We arrive at the Restaurant L'Oignon for our NYE dinner https://www.restaurantloignon.fr/le-restaurant/ This is a smaller establishment serving classic French and Alsatian dishes. You know it's NYE when the restaurant staff are having a round of shots every 15 mins or so! All good, service...

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

And this brings us to new year's eve. A couple of weeks earlier we made a dinner reservation at a small french restaurant in the "Petit France" district. They are doing 2 sittings for NYE, 7-920pm or 930-close. We are a bit early for our 7pm sitting so we go for a wander

Strasbourg has many shops pitched at the tourists. This is possibly the most kitsch souvenir I have seen: As tempted as I was, I left them on the shelf!

Is there a possibility of canceling for a full refund and then going with Air NZ? Do they fly BNE to CHC?

Speaking of, the station itself is quite a sight. The original classical building is encased in a glass atrium

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

And so we arrive at Strasbourg, in the Alsace region of France, which has over the years passed between German and French control more than once. Our accomodation for the next few nights is the Hotel Tandem, a boutique hotel close to the station, and a 5 minute walk to many key attractions...

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Next morning we depart Zurich and press on for Strasbourg, which will be our base for the next few days including New Year's Eve. First up is a TGV with reserved seating. This gets us to Mulhouse where we change to a local train to Strasbourg. This one is not reservable, so it's a total free...

Article: Airlines, Please Stop Selling Ridiculously Tight Connections

YES! Very good idea for a column. The stupidest example is where there’s an AU domestic flight connecting to a long international sector with a tiny layover in say Sydney. The domestic flight runs about 20 times a day, whereas the International flight runs once, yet they put you on the...

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Finland is considered less expensive than its nordic neighbours like Norway and Sweden. It wasn't the cheapest destination but certainly not wildly expensive either. The apartment was huge for the price (3 bedrooms, sauna, kitchen, living room etc) and having a kitchen meant we could self cater...

    NRT Minimum Connection Time?

Looks like Philippine Air and Korean both offer this as a connecting fare. Via MNL and ICN respectively. Long layovers though. Play around with your dates on Google Flights.

    NRT Minimum Connection Time?

The ticket would still be issued by an airline, likely either JAL or QF if that is a connection that they sell. If the two flights are on a single "PNR" (ie: those booking codes like "CLQCVR") then if you misconnect you will be protected and the airline would reroute you on the next flight that...

    NRT Minimum Connection Time?

That’s a good point and definitely something to consider! I’d be factoring a one night layover of these two flights aren’t on the same ticket. The good news: looking at FR24, the JL492 service from Guam has an excellent record for on-time running.
