Qantas have been boarding 30 mins PTD on many flights for many months now, have also noticed. Clearly doing soft trials.

Happens in so many airports. SFO is the same, Waiting in the queue I saw 3 different signs saying completely contradictory things, by the time I got to the agent I just said ‘tell me what you want me to do please’ 😦

Have had a couple of these complimentary upgrades beep through in the last 3 months. One was BNE-MEL (737) Other one was MEL-AKL (737) The first one I got beeped at the gate and the second one I noticed in the app when I went to check in.

Actually sounds like quite a sedate Virgin flight from Perth… 😜 Certainly some interesting personalities on those flights!

Exactly right - but passengers just don’t/wont accept this especially when the seatbelt sign is on for 6 hours of a 10 hour flight, regardless of how close it was or not, an inch or a mile….

One thing to also consider is the inbound flight connections, I remember reading about a year ago that about 40% of inbound SYD full service carrier flights can connect onwards - which means that QF in particular will need some trunk routes in place to support all their interline partners...

It’s a tough one when you are on a flight that the pilot seems to reacts to even the smallest tremor, after a while, justified or not, people just apply the ‘boy cried wolf’ sticker and get up and go to the bathroom… I was on a SQ night flight and I stopped counting at 27, the times they...

Qantas were partners not competitors with Air Vanuatu… now they aren’t available, there it’s a gap in the QF network that they need to fill, so they are filling it… Codesharing with Virgin probably isn’t on the radar 😜 😂

I can speak for a bunch of AU business and also multinationals I work with, many are pulling operations out of China, especially US companies. If you Google it you can read up about the China manufacturing exodus. It’s quite interesting. Corp travel is not as strong as it used to be to China...

Declaring OT (but related) and didn’t want to start whole new thread for something hopefully simple to answer. If you have a domestic NZ flight booked on QF code and it’s a Q300, is it possible to select a seat? QF.com refers to NZ to do it but NZ doesn’t accept the QF PNR?
