Booming Chinese airlines offer bargain business flights to Europe

That’s not entirely accurate but he is entitled to his opinion, his whole book is full of opinions some are closer to truth than others but that’s for the other thread ;)

Booming Chinese airlines offer bargain business flights to Europe

It’s definitely an interesting market still (J to EU). Our corporate policies (thankfully in some people’s opinions) rule out most of the mainland Chinese carriers from being booked unless no reasonable alternative. We also have the ability for the traveller to ethically decline to travel on a...

    Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

Apologies if already asked and answered. If you get offered a free fly ahead from QF (which happens to me more often than not on the golden triangle), do you still automatically get the double status? Assuming should be fine as PNR is not impacted and travel date same.

BA Executive Club change to spend-based status earning

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a huge and overwhelming negative response to a change - the press and blogs have been savage!! The Velocity one was pretty bad of course on an Australian scale but less vocal flyers and much less of a business / corporates flyer focus who tend to yell the loudest.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

I think people will still come through the curtain whatever form it takes. On other airlines that have curtain solutions I’ve seen this too. Staff will still have to be trained to turn back infringers, I think there is clearly some reluctance for them to do this for fear of a confrontation...

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

It’s already been shown to focus groups, and I think posted in this thread (? Maybe another one ) if you care to trawl through all the posts 😉

Virgin 737-8 Max Business Class - No Divider

I’m pretty sure they’ve selected the curtain / divider thing, but unsure why it hasn’t started rolling out yet.

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

Yes imagine the money they’d lose 😜

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I think clearly for a large majority of AFF flyers yes, I also think this latest enhancement tells us something about the future direction of the new Virgin model as others have pointed out, moving further down away from Qantas, becoming less of a Qantas lite / maybe more of a Jetstar plus…...

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Sure there is, to access the HBA CL, you walk into the HBA VA Lounge and there is an unmarked door immediately to your left

Good VA sale, including business class - book by 28/10/24

Clearly. Wonder if Qantas will quietly respond, if they feel they need to…

Platinum caught out with VA baggage ex CBR

Agree it’s all about issues overhead baggage space and the flow on effects this is creating - slowed down boarding, aggravated passengers (and therefore staff cop it), on time performance etc etc. I tend to board early and the look of panic on peoples faces about 5 minutes later when they...
