I'm not sure why too surprised? Have you seen the yield of premium v non-premium? If you're a regular BA flyer you'll see most Y doesn't start till well after the wing as each J seat yields multiples of some Y seat.

I'm not saying there will not be any upgrades moving forward but QF were actively providing them before with the loyalty note on the BP form what I understand. The VIP ones will continue as per usual. I'm usually booking around 2-6 weeks out for most of my travel.

I'm usually in the highest fare class but on the one occasion i wasn't I did get one SYD-BNE. I heard they included even international so potentially J to F or Y to J. The VIP team ones will continue but will be on an ad hoc basis.

Just an FYI, I've heard that QF has been handing out upgrades very proactively in May but that policy had a hard stop on 1 June. This was for WP and P1 so don't expect these as frequently moving forward.

Agreed! For many months now I've been leaving the lounge at T-30 as they usually board at around T-25. Nothing new here and has been welcomed as my syd mel vv have often been early if not on time.

Agree with the sentiment here...if you fly one particular airline frequently let them look after you in their own way. There's no consistent way to recognize a tier above emerald. Just be thankful for emerald as star and scaryteam are pretty average topping out a relatively mid tier. I cant...

As a general rule I wouldn’t rely on fly ahead. If there is weather it will get enacted but outside that they seem to manage the route very tightly especially if you’re less than P1 and not on a flex
