    eSims, what is your experience.

I've found Eskimo really great, but the one strange gap they have is that, despite being a Singapore based company, they don't work in Singapore.

Sounds like worth keeping in the back pocket then, for things like a transit or if you have trouble with your paid for eSIM.

I had a bit of a look. You watch an ad and it gives you access for predefined period of time (varies by country), usually an hour. Once it runs out you need to watch another ad to extend it. I might have a play around. I'm wondering if, once your time runs out, you'd still be able to watch the...

    Accor Fast Track to Silver/Gold/Platinum

I've stayed at the Adnate as a Platinum a couple of times. The upgrades I've gotten has just been a room on a higher floor, which is nice enough. The hotel itself is pretty nice though and in a good spot. Has a decent breakfast buffet too, though not as big as some I've been to.

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

They've also clearly been drawing back from the Australian market, they only fly to Sydney and Melbourne now, so they probably have a lot less need for an Australian partner.

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

Two new docs added to the ACCC portal today that might be of some interest: https://www.accc.gov.au/public-registers/authorisations-and-notifications-registers/authorisations-register/virgin-australia-and-qatar-airways Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways - Response to interested party...

    eSims, what is your experience.

I used them in Singapore on my Galaxy S24, had no trouble setting up using the WiFi in Changi airport and it worked a treat. They have a referral program that gets you a bonus $3 on sign up as well, they also had a promo for a while that got you 1GB on signup, so it might be worth having a scout...

Credit Card Offers Amex Platinum Card Benefits, Offers & Discussion

Came across a new benefit today, via Amazon Prime: https://www.amazon.com.au/prime/offer/doordash/prime-deal I know AmEx has had DoorDash statement credit offers in the past as well.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I think this is a good point that keeps getting overlooked. A lot of the comparisons people have been doing, on how much it'll take to earn status, assume that they'll be able to take maximum advantage of a DSC offer on Qantas, but will have to pay full fare on Virgin. I'm certain the various...

Credit Card Offers Refreshed Amex Velocity Platinum Card Benefits & Offers

I agree, I've found the AmEx lounge in Sydney to very pleasant, even if it doesn't have views. I've been the Qantas Business lounge twice now (I don't often fly Qantas) and there's no doubt I'd choose the AmEx lounge in the future. The only downside being that it is far away from the Qantas...

    Accor elite availabity guarantee

Ah, that would be the one that's a combined Ibis/Novotel, so that might explain why some of the higher services are also available.

    Accor Fast Track to Silver/Gold/Platinum

Wasn't there some issue with combining ALL Signature with Accor Plus? I thought you couldn't have both, or have I got the wrong idea? With the discount and the current exchange rates it's certainly looking like a great offer. I'm staying at Accor properties most of the time these days anyway...

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

I think that post was firmly tounge-in-cheek (at least I hope it was). 😂

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Just a note that this story has come from AFR and Nine, which are not part of News Corp. or related to Murdoch. I haven't seen any figures for the APS as a whole. I do know that occasionally this question is asked of various departments or agencies at Senate estimates. It usually results in a...

Included in the remaining 10%. That's all of the spend on airlines that aren't Qantas group.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

No, 90% of the domestic flights are on Qantas group and there's nothing alleged about it. Those numbers come from the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority. https://www.afr.com/companies/transport/mps-and-staff-flock-to-qantas-as-domestic-flight-bill-hits-29m-20241016-p5kiqk

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

No, it doesn't apply to the politicians and their staff. In general none of the rules that apply to the APS apply to them.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

The policy for APS isn't BFOD, it's LPF (lowest practical fare), which is a bit more flexible. https://www.finance.gov.au/publications/resource-management-guides/domestic-travel-policy-rmg-404 Though even that guidance document page accidentally refers to it as "best fare of the day" at one...

How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

I do think the Pullman at Perth airport is quite a few years too late, with the train now it's just a 20 min ride to the city centre so it's not as needed as it used to be. To be fair, that Novotel (Murrary Street) is pretty great. There's the Adnate Art Series as well, though it's pretty much...

    Targeted offers

I've had targeted emails before when I've searched for flights while logged in. Though offering bonus points is certainly new, I haven't seen that before.
