Spend some time in Singapore and you will soon get used to the Singaporean accent la.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Qantas charge a flat credit card fee. So does Internode for Amex. Flat credit card charges benefit high spenders and don't benefit low spenders.

    Jail history haunts Hanson

I think she ticked the wrong box. The article states: "They have a card that asks if you’ve had a criminal conviction of more than 12 months.." She ticked Yes. If the card says "had" then she did tick the gramatically correct box. If the card says "have" then she ticked the wrong box...

Qantas aims for eight million frequent flyers

For people less close to you. Or for convenience. eg. I signed up two different memberships to have two cards for staff to use when they buy work purchases from Woolworths & **** Smith . Which is around $500-$1000 per week. I wouldn't wan't to sign up memberships in their names as they may...

Qantas aims for eight million frequent flyers

Also now that joining is free, I guess there would be many "fake" or "duplicate" accounts. eg. Sign up an extra card under a fake name and give the card to wife/husband/child/father/mother/partner/receptionist to use when they buy at Woolworths/****/Big W and then transfer the points when they...

    insure4less Annual Travel Insurance - from $191

This is a good point. Double checking the insure4less policy, the maximum stay per trip is 31 days which is much less than 60/90 days of most other policies.

    insure4less Annual Travel Insurance - from $191

I rarely think it is wise to judge something based on its price. Just like wine or plane tickets, there are many cheaper wines or plane tickets that are better than more expensive ones. You may be right with insure4less, but not necessarily. Ideally we could hear from someone with first hand...

Tiger perpetually late - Who is responsible for inaccurate departure times?

I think the consensus on the board is that your expectations are too high for a low cost airline. It is not expected by most passengers that low cost airlines will have real time departure displays. The departure times are the scheduled departure times of flights and to help remind people that...

Why are Singapore Airlines Award Redemption Taxes/Charges so HIGH?

Hi, Due to the difference in points (38500 vs 23xx_), I am thinking of redeeming a Thai airlines award flight through Singapore Airlines instead of Thai. Is there a way to check availability of thai award flights online on any website? The thai airways website won't let you search award...

What to do with Citibank points - I want to change to Qantas direct earn

Hi, I don't use my Citibank card that much anymore due to the points capping, but with the increase in the Qantas direct earn fee to $49, I have decided to quickly change my card to Qantas direct earn so I can get 1 year at the $19 rate. However I have 400,000 Citibank points and am not sure...

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Its already given me an idea to tell my staff to automatically push savings button when a customer hands over a Visa debit card....At the end of the day the customer is using the same money and why should the bank take a bigger fee for the push of a simple button. Its not like the customer can...

    Qantas Rewards Program Fee Change

I thought I better redeem some of my Citibank points recently. Looking through their online catalogue I could not find anything that I really wanted. The rewards are the worst by far compared with Amex & CBA. And they charge delivery charges for items other than gift vouchers.

Earn Points and SCs with Any Seat Award Flights

Re: Earning Status Credits & Points on ANY SEAT bookings Just a quick question: Does Qantas enforce the minimum four eligible Qantas flights per year rule? Can status credits be earned completely on partner airlines?

    which cheapest merchant?

Also be careful as many banks will sign you up to a 3 year contract and then will increase your rates after a year. Both NAB & Bankwest have pulled this trick on me. I am considering joining an association so that the merchant rate stays the same. Here are a few associations that I found...

India's new visa rules - any advice

I don't see any comparison between the rules of other countries. Other countries have rules that prevent people from staying too long in a country (eg. continuous back to back maximum tourist visas). India's rule on the other hand has nothing to do with how many days you spend in the country...

India's new visa rules - any advice

What a stupid rule. Some countries really don't have a clue. You could also try calling the airline to confirm that you are OK. And note down the name of the person you speak to and try and get a reference number for the call. This way you can inform the check in agent of this if necessary.

    Amex credit checks

I would say the best thing to do is to apply for them in the order that you value them the most. And leave a little bit of time between each application. ie. At least wait to receive the card before you apply for the next one.
