The view or two from my "office"

AUS Day office on the water onboard the Cadman for a three lunch cruise. What an absolute belter of a day! A bit overcast at first but the weather came through. The boat itself was a sketchy party vessel but food was great, beer and wine were fine, plenty of everything. The boat wasn't packed...

A spear fisherman was taken by a shark at the Little Bay point just recently. It's always a risk swimming at most Australian beaches but none the less that doesn't stop us!!

Drove over to Little Bay (SYD) for a lunch time swim. The relly we're staying with hasn't been there before so we packed our swimming gear and went for a look. Can definitely say it was fantastic. Little Bay's shallow, calm and very safe for kids and unconfident swimmers unlike some of the...

Over to the Coogee Bay SYD office for the Aus Day long weekend. Stopped in Mittagong for lunch at the House of Lowe Chinese (Combination short soup was great, packed full of beef, chicken and wontons with a couple of token veggies) and a mooch around before heading off to Coogee. First stop...

Was that Mordialloc Creek? We walked around there a couple of years back and there were some classic old timers in that little marina.

The Nightcliff Drive-in, Darwin. Closed in 1985, the memories. The fun and entertainment was the drive-in itself, not the movie! "I do not have a couple of mates in the boot of my XD Falcon" Mr Attendant.

Unique airport lounge features & services

Qantas International J lounges have fine collection of threadbare, stained lounge chairs and crusty metal cutlery. Does that count?

Last day of holidays, back to work tomorrow to pay for more holidays!! The Nut's have a tradition of sorts where whoever's last day of holidays (sometimes we don't quite align) gets to pick a lunch venue and the other drives. My lunch pick today: Gundaroo Inn (Est 1872) which is about a 25 min...

    Travel Insurance query

We use 1Cover for health primarily but also coved our flights that started and end outside of Australia. 1Cover was recommended to us by couple of seasoned travelling friends. One had to make a claim AND they got paid. Give them a try is all I can suggest.

Not sure Cossie. The bikes were there when we visited in June 2023. Definitely worth a visit.

We were going to do the festival last year but the only accommodation we could find was out of town and according to the locals, the festival is manic. The 'hop on hop off' bus is very appealing, you cover more wineries and don't have the hassel of driving. Locals suggested coming another time...

New year's eve in Rutherglen was spent doing a couple more vineyards (bet that came as a surprise!) Breakfast was at the Caffeine Machine (Rutherglen) which along with good value melas and great coffee, an amazing collection of vintage motorbikes and cars. 1928 Indian 101 Scout 600 cc 3 speed...

Did the three and half hour trek yesterday up the Hume on the way Rutherglen. Traffic was constant and rest stops busy in both directions. We drove to Rutherglen via Chiltern, a nice little country town and grabbed a bite to eat at the Chiltern Bakery. Not a lot on offer, had been a very busy...

Our last day in MEL before starting the treck back to CBR kicked off with a morning take away coffee from the delightful Chestnut Tree Bookshop in West Footscray. With the cobwebs dusted off we headed into the city for a long lunch, beers and cricket at the Irish Times with the SIL and her...
