    2019 Federal Election Discussion

I've not declared my allegiance left or right as i don't believe this forum is the place to do it. But i dont like seeing things in bold like the word "rape" here when there so much unsupport data . Is there anything wrong with that? So News Corp and Fairfax not reporting it is therefore a...

    2019 Federal Election Discussion

Sad, so very sad to see this stuff on AFF. And to BOLD it is always a classic to make sure its heard. Pointless to say anything else other than i thought i belonged to Australian Frequent Flyer, not some ideological right winged site. And before you have a go at me, I'm a coal miners son working...

    2019 Federal Election Discussion

Noel Pearson so eloquently said in his eulogy to Whitlam; " The devil-may-care attitude to management as opposed to reform is unlikely to be seen again by governments whose priorities are to retain power rather than reform" has never rang so true in this election. With that I expect disciples...

Are they? And we wonder why the US got themselves in knots over false stories at their last election. I reflect back to last week whilst i was in LA and with a bit of time to spare before heading to Asia i went birding down at Bellona Lagoon. Met a lady walking around there as should get...

    2019 Federal Election Discussion

A bit sad/downhearted that we see stories like this on the AFF site. Not really much to do with planes, trains, hotels and lounges but i suppose a few days out from an election and its in the playground. But one of the comments Smith story was not even News Corp would touch it, so why do we?

    2019 Travel Plans

i would love to be able to plan a trip like that; thoughtful, unhurried and do what you like. I'm currently on another one of those crazy trips. Last years one was supposedly a 4 - 6 week turned into a 4 month long jaunt. Now this one has already entered its third month on what was supposidly a...

How does Marriott treat you as an elite?

A little in disagreement. As with airlines just depents on status. I was upgraded to a suite at Kota Kinabala @ Ti level. Not whimper or question. Have been upgraded on at least the past 20 stays maybe even the past 40!

    What's your Uber experience?

I use Uber in the States now almost religiously, but using Grab at the moment in SE Asia. Biggest difference i the vehicles, in Malaysia a lot of them are Protons and not the greatest of cars, but the drivers are quite pleasant. There is a lot of competition here so cars are very easy toget and...

Alcohol confiscated at Bangkok Airport in transit - isn't it a scam?

No still around 90 minutes. they don't like pushing it and i think they have to be in place at a certain time. Still think this is an insult to the limited number of airports they do it at. AusGov is saying your security is not good enough (or my alternate view > supporting duty free shops in...

Woman threatened with eviction from flight because she was wearing a crop top

Last night in BKK TG Au lounge was a certainly a bit different than the normal visit. I suppose the crocs have become stylish, certainly with the green socks! The dress code is certainly "loose". But three chairs down was a woman "expressing" for her child. Certainly something I've not come...

Nice beers i have had recently - Trappist, lagers, Ales et al.

The last of the batch was the "common" Pale Ale which is always a nice drop, but i dont think comes close to our Coopers Pale ale. I did find this one on tap a few times and like always different from the bottle and i think better.

Nice beers i have had recently - Trappist, lagers, Ales et al.

Well i have to finish of the "Sampler" pack from Sierra Nevada before i go to too many new beers. I feared that this one was going to be far too hoppy, but was pleasantly surprised. Colour was a good indicator that it was past the lager type, and quiet easy on the mouth with no great hop...

Woman threatened with eviction from flight because she was wearing a crop top

As mentioned, it is a very slippery slope and views right across the spectrum, but for me I have always felt to dress around the "smart casual" mark. Maybe its because i use lounges or how your flying, but i just think its a bit of respect for the airport/airlines/staff etc. Even on those rare...
