The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Yes I always find I still get the points (which aren't merger when you have their health insurance). But I still can't get it to synch after 24 hours. Very frustrating. Edit: Sorted. Issue resolved in Wellbeing settings, not Samsung Health. The Wellbeing synch issues help section coukd do with...

The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

The Wellbeing app stopped syncing with my Samsung Health late yesterday. Same for my iPhone using wife not syncing with whatever app iPhones have. I have tried the usual uninstall and reinstall a few times. It gave me one updated step count but on 0 today.

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

I was in it from the start and looking at the earn history that was at least back to late 2015. I have earnt only 34000 points from it in all that time, but I don't religiously do the surveys and have gone long periods ignoring it. They can be quite tedious. Those on the waitlist could try the...

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

I understand but there is nothing wrong with that wording by Qantas. It is a concise way to explain the discount.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

What exactly did the email say (I don't seem to have it)? The qantasnewsroom site reads "...the chance to book one million discounted Business and Economy seats, using their Qantas Points or cash.."

Indonesia's Bali considering increasing Tourism tax levy to deter 'low-class foreign tourists'

No we don't want that culture in hospitals, but I still have to present my Medicare card at Emergency. Like any "business" hospitals should still chase money owed to them. Are fake details a particular problem? I have heard anything about it before. Anyone inclined to give fake details would...

Indonesia's Bali considering increasing Tourism tax levy to deter 'low-class foreign tourists'

I too hate the Go Fund Me brigade, but a lack of travel insurance is not a problem specific to Bali. Only a handful of countries have such a requirement, Singapore being one, but no one asked me to prove anything on arrival last year. When I visited a hospital in USA I had to settle the bill one...

Indonesia's Bali considering increasing Tourism tax levy to deter 'low-class foreign tourists'

Why? It would open a minefield and be near impossible to police any sort of minimum standard coverage.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

But it is not really. The points price is dynamic, like the $ price. Therefore, it is fair to say both are on sale.

Qatar booking - Avios, Qantas or Virgin FF

Thanks for the reply. It is with a travel agent (part of a cruise deal), but flights are all on Qatar. So I assumed they wouldn't be booking "directly" with Virgin. It is odd wording on the website.

Qatar booking - Avios, Qantas or Virgin FF

I read an article recently about being careful when choosing which program to earn points with on Qatar - Qantas or Virgin, due to different rules around booking class. Looking for some elderly relatives who are flying soon for about 20000 miles, booked through an agent, economy class fare type...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Its also 27% above your higher $110 shop, or $30 which is not hard to spend. But there is not a lot of logic to it. After just hitting my $250 spend the next target is $230. Plus a second target of $120 for online (which is most of our WW shopping), totalling 4900 points. I have previously seen...

Europcar caught scamming customer at Sydney Airport

A few years ago I had Avis (who I almost always use) in ADL call as I was boarding (or maybe it was when I arrived in MEL) to say that there was a chip on the windscreen. We hadn't even driven 50km that weekend and I told them there was no way that happened when I was driving. I never heard from...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

It's not about what you need, they typically want to entice you to spend a little more than normal. For my 5 person household they wanted me to spend $350 on one account and $250 on another. Meanwhile, Coles is feeling neglected and wants me to spend only $130. The $250 won out (10% discount)...

AFF Review: Fiji Airways A350-900 Economy Class (SYD-NAN)

It's been 16 years but when we arrived with a 23 month old, we were called to the front of immigration, as were other families. @AFF Editor did you notice that on arrival? (Flying Virgin we didn't have the same privilege on boarding.)

Article: Why is Dynamic Currency Conversion Even Legal?

I was confused because I read that as meaning when you were visiting USA, Canada or Eurozone it would be available.

Article: Why is Dynamic Currency Conversion Even Legal?

The difference is the hotel would display the exchange rate. It was there for all to see and the principal transaction was to exchange currency. But with DCC it is not as obvious. In some cases many have mentioned here, they have gone to pay in one currency and been presented with another after...

Article: What's Your Seat Recline Strategy?

Things aren't so black and white. I tend to get lower back pain and I find reclining my seat one "notch" makes a big a difference, so I will do that on most flights, however short. But not during meals. Likewise some people may struggle to get out of their seat without touching the seat in front...
