Old Block is a good wine but $160 rrp is steep. $79 is probably not bad but 2017 isn't a great Barossa year - at least not as good as 2016 or 2018.

Perhaps but it's generally a very good $30 purchase (I haven't had the 2018) so it's a price I'm happy to pay. I doubt it will come by much cheaper.

I bought this previously at $24.50. Had 1 bottle and cellared the rest. From memory I thought it was an excellent buy at the price.

As a general rule 2020 in SA is not great. 2019 was the last of the normal weather years followed by 3 years of El Nino. 2021 is a better year than 2020. I don't buy 2020 MV, Barossa or Connawara. I haven't had the Pirramimma or the P&S 2020 and good wines can still be made in an ordinary...

Always exceptions but outside of Hunter & Margaret River I steer clear of 2011s and there isn't much Hunter Red that's good and reasonably priced anyway (IMO). MR cab from 2011 is good. I'd love to try a bottle of the 2011 Langi but I wouldn't spring for a half dozen. I'd bet it's clearance...

The Langi is a very good wine as rule. I haven't had the 2011 but I wouldn't buy it, even at that price, just based on the vintage. 2011 was a very bad (wet) year for Vic & SA (among others). Generally poor quality and generally poor ageing profile. Hard to find much in the way of reviews...

Just checked my records and I've had the twisted Trunk 2006 and 2013 around 10 years from release and rated them both above average. They were labeled as reserve. I've not had the 2017 but I see it doesn't say reserve if that means anything. Might be a China export wine. They do (or did?)...
