You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Or getting into a hire car and finding your phone has already paired?! I do try and remember to remove my phone from the car before I off-hire it, but sometimes these things are too rushed!

    Passenger Arrival/Departure Cards

If you navigate the smart gate without too many issues, and are not profiled to be an at risk passenger, they don't police the deposit of the outgoing card in the box. I've travelled with a few people now that completely ignore/don't notice the box to drop them in, and carry the card with them...

You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Going for the double shadow! Personally if I wanted to sit up front, I'd be happy to go with 5A and C, I like the window, my travelling partner the aisle!

    Smoke alarm sensitivity

As a roll-on hater, did you go a bit overboard? I've brought my own aerosols (in the much overpriced mini versions) and not had an issue?

    Ask The Pilot

Does this tend to cause motion sickness? I recall a few F1 drivers were no good on the simulators due to lack of accurate forces!

Are other airlines also as bad as Qantas?

Yes any corporate will push the boundaries until they get stung. This could be in the form of media attention (probably not going to get much sympathy from the masses on this one), court rulings or shareholder discontent. Unfortunately, the only one of the aforementioned that is even remotely...

    Someone's in my seat

I find on some aircraft that I have to stoop to see the row numbers. In most cases, I won't need to look at the numbers because I know exactly where I'm going anyway!

Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

As long as ineligible passengers are directed to the correct queue, to discourage people that don't qualify from joining the priority queue.

Has anyone ever been let into a lounge by just asking

Not saying it was the case here, but Virgin did previously sell a 'Corporate Plus' fare, which included lounge access to non-status economy passengers. My VA lounge trips always involved strict Dragons that would scan boarding passes, although this was some years ago.

Look Carefully Before Book Hotels Worldwide

I've tried this before at a major Australian regional centre when I was relocating states. I did a quick check of booking comparison sites when I rolled into town, and rather than going through the hassle of trying to enter all my details on my phone, went direct to the hotel desk. They insisted...

Are other airlines also as bad as Qantas?

I'd be interest to hear people's opinion on the T&C's of these tickets. I'd nearly put my house on the fact that a class downgrade with no compensation wouldn't be compliant with Australian Consumer Law. Would also appreciate an official response from Qantas if you get one!

Are other airlines also as bad as Qantas?

You have got to be joking! I would be expecting original routing credits and a partial refund. Unfortunately, we know that Qantas's downgrade compensation is pathetic, but it still should be something?

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread Thanks JV, this seems fair. I guess my options then, are to transfer 250k (using 3/4 family transfers for the year) from account 1 to account 2, so all 560k points are in account 2, and book online. The other option is...

    Points required for upgrade

If it's via Syd, upgrades are per sector, and you will have to request (and calculate) the domestic and international requests separately. If it's the Jetstar (codeshare) flight, tough luck! Edit: I may have lied on both counts...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread Apologies, this has most likely been answered previously (Shakespeare, monkeys, etc.), if I want to book 2 x J RTW 280k rewards using different FF accounts, will the consultant waive the phone booking fee? I've found the...
