Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread So the total number of segments, including any surface segments and return to origin segments (assuming they count towards the limit?), is less than or equal to 16?

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread You can always cancel, and all you'll be out of pocket is the cancel/change fee. You will have to pay the change fee regardless. I'd only really condone 'dummy' flights booked if you would be happy to take them, otherwise...

BA Gold moving back to QF Platinum- any ways to speed up the process?

If you are going to fly the minimum number of sectors with BA to requalify as BA GOLD (OWE), perhaps it is worthwhile just sticking with them? If you do want to get back to QF WP, it is definitely worthwhile asking the question. I have 'heard' of status challenges being set for matching status...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread Yes! You may have to get the differing PNRs from either the Qantas MMB, over the phone, or plugging the QF PNR into checkmytrip.com. Then you can go to each carrier and select your seats. (BA usually charge for non OWE flyers).

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread I also had issues with LIM sometimes appearing as a destination. By memory, I struggled to have it appear as a one way trip, but when combined with the incoming leg (JFK-LIM for me), I was then able to also search LIM-SCL...

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread Apologies for cherry picking the answers, but as far as Question 2 goes, the distance of the final leg to home would always be counted, so as long as you're still compliant with the other fare rules (2 OW carriers, < 35k...

    Aircraft changes and upgrades

If you're not particularly locked in to that exact time, it may be possible to get Qantas to waive change fees to another flight (doubtful seeing as you booked economy), or ask for any cancellation fees to be waived. If they do, you may be able to chance your luck in future if there's an...

    Jetstar in-air fight

The Jetstar6! Most travelling parents I've come across carry ample spares to cater for delays. 3 hours isn't all that bad. I'd hope that they've done their dosh and travel insurance doesn't give them a cent.

Phew... just saw a clip on the news showing them drinking shots in a bar that didn't resemble the QP!

Insurance Claim - loss of points

I seem to recall someone saying the same thing, and also having to fight Finnair fairly vigorously to receive compensation. If you could get $1917 from your insurer, I'd take it.

    Qantas flight query

With literally all seats bar 1 sold for the flight, I'd imagine the P1s, WPs and babies have all the bulkhead seats pre-selected.

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

2 x items (1 bottle + 1 bottle), compared to one pack of two glasses. You'd be relying on goodwill of the vendor rather than any obligation of the vendor to give you 4 bottles!

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

They do however list 'From 14.99 a bottle' for a total price of 29.98 (using the Dorrien Estate Twin Pack as an example).

    Couples & Voluntary Cabin Separation

1 hour is doable if you don't just miss the transit bus, and it's only running every 20 or 30 minutes. I've done 75 minutes, complete with a quick champagne in the FLounge.

    Shoes On, Shoes Off

Sigh, the germaphobes ruining for everyone with their propaganda! I'll leave my shoes on until at least the seatbelt sign is off, then remove them and replace my socks with the airline provided socks. Shoes go back on if I'm going to use the facilities.

    QF24 BKK-SYD J on A332 (pre-refurb)

While this explanation is what I was getting at, my experience with babies in J has been great (apart from seeing them board, haven't heard a peep!). With less passengers in J, the probability of getting a baby in the cabin is less, and any Y screamers will end up in row 23.

Based on sitting together, and away from the crying babies in the front row of Y!
