What brand? And how long do you spend on social media talking down its competition?

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Based on what we're hearing at the government level, I wouldn't rule out a tentative attempt at opening up from 2H 2022 after the "completion" of a booster rollout midyear... but I would pretty much rule out anything more than some limited exceptions before then. From a Japan perspective, the...

The Qantas call centre now has a different menu

Seems like an uncharitable and ad hominem take on someone who’s only trying to describe a corporate reality over which they personally have no control whatsoever.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

QF is clearly hoping they can hold onto their peak-period revenue for as long as possible despite having no realistic prospect of operating the flights.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I’m trying to imagine a scenario in which any level of Australian government says “There’s a booster on the way that will cope with at least some of the more concerning variants, but sure, let’s open up before we take it.” And struggling. Switzerland has just ordered theirs… where will...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

It's a very reasonable prediction given what is an obvious setback in Singapore (albeit a trivial one in the big scheme of things) and the Australian government's demonstrated (lack of) appetite for risk. I think a good question in the context of this thread is whether the currently available...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

"Either... Or..." There's that binary thinking again. You really do seem to struggle with nuance. I wonder whether mortality and other outcomes might potentially be worse in an emerging economy with a completely overwhelmed healthcare system? Australia is winning itself no friends in the...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Our current working assumption is that Japan will be open to the UK and US from January or February 2022. So Australia will have some decisions to make...

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

Perhaps not, given that your ‘analysis’ is completely demented to put it kindly.

Problem with "informed choice" is that choices are often informed by innumerate ignorance. And then politicians start to pander to it. QED.

    General COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion

And the current rollout is unlikely to be enough since a booster against variants will be the general standard as of early 2022.

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

Wait long enough and by that criterion *no* vaccine will be acceptable. If the US pause lasts more than a few days it will end up being a net killer. But don’t let that get in the way of taking a cheap shot. I see below that you’re surprised to learn that the vaccines stop people getting...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

That’s your characterisation, not what he actually said. They’ve always been factoring in a buffer after the vaccination rollout is complete... that is at least likely to be shorter the later it is given that Australia will once again be able to observe what happens elsewhere first.
