The "I am in self-isolation" thread

OMG three weeks ago I suggested to my husband that they might put lo-jacks on us when we arrived home.

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

I did wonder how they were going to accommodate the (no doubt) thousands that would be trying to return home from the East at Eucla. Glad that common sense has prevailed on that one.

    Ladies who shop !!

That reminds me I have to get that parcel out of the car while hubby is out for his walk....

    Ladies who shop !!

Dropped $80 on cheese yesterday at hubby's request from Harper and Blohm. It arrived today, can't wait for cheese o'clock!

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Yes, my time is up and I was able to go out to the post office and GP today. Now back home and happily back in the living room. Boy the roads are quiet, it's like the Xmas holidays! :) Back to work next week - should be interesting.

    Ladies who shop !!

I bought a pair of Rollie shoes the other night that I was *considering* but don't remember actually purchasing. When they arrived I was genuinely surprised.

All international travelers will be quarantined in hotels or designated facilities

Just a note about Lara Bingle's (or whoever she was) mum and their hotel. I've stayed in that hotel and it is lovely. Mind you, some of the rooms are a bit pokey - I probably wouldn't wouldn't want to be confined to one of the smaller ones for two weeks. But the a/c works and the showers, beds...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Hang in there. MrSuze and I went through a rough patch but now we have stopped bickering and are just enjoying each other's company. I know that your marriage is not in a healthy state, but even when you dislike someone eventually you find a way to coexist. It’s day 11 here. I’ve done all the...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

I registered 34.9 the other morning! I'm sure that verges on hypothermia! Generally my baseline is below 36 anyway, but that was weird. Edit: someone was asking about sourdough discard crackers. Here's the recipe I'm going to try:

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I cleared out our "wine cellar" (an old fridge in our garage) because I actually need it for food hoarding right now. I was shocked at how many bottles hubby had been putting away in there over the years. If I only liked red wine that much, we'd be okay until at least July, at a bottle a day...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Day nine: 50th birthday came and went. And it was a lovely day. A couple of unexpected gifts arrived and our friends dropped around with a cake and present for me because they'd guessed I wouldn't have one. I was actually gearing up to ring a colleague at work to ask her to pick one up for me...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

I'm worried that the new shutdowns will mean that Dan Murphy's will close! One of our friends - who's not under quarantine- said he just drove past Uncle Dan's on Bell St and there's a crush happening. Surely booze is needed more than ever in the end times and won't be considered...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Day 5 and we're both a little snarky. Our neighbour came through with a delivery of ALFOIL because that was an unanticipated inventory failure. We did a decent amount of gardening today, with myself weeding and my husband butchering a couple of trees (he calls it "pruning"). The cat has begun to...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Received a care package for our cat today from a cat-loving friend. Treats complete with a little card addressed from her cat. :) Can't add a pic unfortunately, but it was a very nice gesture.

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Day 2 and MrSuze and I are getting on each others' nerves, but trying to laugh it off, mostly. Who knows if we will still be together after day 14. I discovered that doing yoga videos is way hard when you have a fat belly to accommodate. The cat is whiny too for no apparent reason. I'm just...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Quarantine here after our 8 days in Thailand. Good thing it was a fantastic holiday. I'm spending time cancelling appointments I made before leaving and trying to ignore how cranky my husband is getting after only two days!!

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Respiratory illness - Effect on Travel

We made it home from Thailand with no incident yesterday. There were temp checks to enter departures at BKK, and the airport was considerably busier than it was when we arrived the previous Sunday (though perhaps that's because it was a Monday). Few non-anglos wearing masks, but us whiteys obvs...

Is there an easy way to find out OTHER countries travel restrictions?

Lucky we're already in Thailand, as we came via SIN. The resort we are staying at has been quiet mostly, until today, when large numbers of what I assume to be Thais have arrived for the weekend.

What are the travel opportunities in light of 2019 Novel Coronavirus?

We flew MEL-SIN-BKK a few days ago with SQ. 60% full on first leg, about 30% full on second. They could swap out to smaller planes but at the moment, I felt very safe from infection as there were so few people. FAs all wearing masks.

    SQ service reductions during May

I feel like the thread title needs to be updated to include Mar and April. Luckily, I'm still not affected. :)
