    Virgin/Qatar seat selection

This should not be the case...QR allows access to partner / 3rd party lounges for Velocity Gold & Plat (unlike e.g. SQ where you only get access to SQ operated lounges). Where possible you should get a lounge invite at check in, if lounge eligibility is not shown on the boarding pass.

    Virgin/Qatar seat selection

No you won't be able to check in via Virgin / Velocity.

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

People say this...but I don't think it has ever been 100% the case...I honestly wouldn't expect it to be...all frequent flyer programs do this (make more space available to their own members than partner programs).

    No ESTA but BP issued

I was more referring to the "is the reward flight forfeit" question. It needed to be cancelled 24 hours prior to the domestic sector. Or changed 24 hours prior to the MEL-SFO sector.

    No ESTA but BP issued

Cancellation needed to made at least 24 hours before the domestic sector...so the check in today doesn't make that situation any worse.

Failed beg for platinum status consideration

I am surprised to hear that there is still an onshore team. It doesn't matter how often I've dealt with "Velocity Premium" and how many escalations I've gone through...I've always very clearly been dealing with the offshore team.

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

If I wasn't plat with VA I would probably take JQ. Although I think the 787 has largely or totally disappeared from DPS routes?

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

No I don't think so...international flights are much more protected.

Avianca LifeMiles – Bookings and Discussion

I'm confused...why is SQ sending you this? I guess they are part of the connecting itinerary? Can you manage your booking on the SQ site and check the status of that sector on your eTicket there?

Eligible Sector - VA Flight booked through Hawaiian

You'd get points in either case...the question was about eligible sectors.

Eligible Sector - VA Flight booked through Hawaiian

To be really, really clear. Are you saying that YOUR TICKET shows a VA flight number...OR, that the flight in general had a VA flight number (obvs as it was VA operated) in addition to codeshare flight number? A few times I've seen people think that because the flight is also sold as a VA flight...

Qantas Call Centre Long Wait Times

Not sure about the polar opposite. I'm plat with VA so get 'Velocity Premium' when calling. Most issues I have dealt with over the past year have been very long and drawn out affairs where the vast majority of the staff just can't understand the issue or what is needed to resolve it. I've had...

Earning Velocity points on UA flight with Milageplus upgrade mixed in

I have done this too...but I DID have an issue. I was booked in Premium Plus MEL-LAX and EWR-LAX-MEL....earning with Velocity but I successfully upgraded these 3 sectors for 30k miles + USD450 in each direction. I had other flights on my itinerary where I travelled in the originally booked...

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

I had a whinge (complaint form) to VA about the Queenstown farce. Mainly about the lack of communication and failure to follow the ground services manual with respect to announcements / vouchers. They came back and told me to go away and that the delay occurred despite their 'best efforts'. I...

CGK Airport - LAG Check on Boarding to Oz

You know....I never really considered that before...they only look in bags at secondary checking...not on the person...which makes the whole thing even more of a farce. Once when I boarded a JQ flight from HKT-MEL people were just walking past the bag check anyway...security staff didn't say or...

CGK Airport - LAG Check on Boarding to Oz

At both of these airports...EVERYONE does primary security screening at the gate (except SIN T4 it seems...which has no flights to LHR). It has nothing to do with the destination.

    ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

They waive for US itineraries for 24 hours...because that's a DoT regulation.

CGK Airport - LAG Check on Boarding to Oz

I don't think the UK is subjecting anyone to secondary security screening. It has certainly never happened to me in Thailand or UAE, when it does on flights to Australia from those countries.

CGK Airport - LAG Check on Boarding to Oz

If domestic terror events had never happened here, I'd maybe agree...but... Instead Australia's domestic liquid regs are a huge international outlier.

CGK Airport - LAG Check on Boarding to Oz

This is the most ridiculous aspect of the whole secondary screening rule. Liquids on aircraft are either dangerous or they're not. Not having restrictions on domestic but confiscating post security liquids for inbound international is so ridiculous. 1707704229 Everyone gets 'the check' at...
