This should not be the case...QR allows access to partner / 3rd party lounges for Velocity Gold & Plat (unlike e.g. SQ where you only get access to SQ operated lounges). Where possible you should get a lounge invite at check in, if lounge eligibility is not shown on the boarding pass.

People say this...but I don't think it has ever been 100% the case...I honestly wouldn't expect it to be...all frequent flyer programs do this (make more space available to their own members than partner programs).

I was more referring to the "is the reward flight forfeit" question. It needed to be cancelled 24 hours prior to the domestic sector. Or changed 24 hours prior to the MEL-SFO sector.

Cancellation needed to made at least 24 hours before the domestic sector...so the check in today doesn't make that situation any worse.

I am surprised to hear that there is still an onshore team. It doesn't matter how often I've dealt with "Velocity Premium" and how many escalations I've gone through...I've always very clearly been dealing with the offshore team.

If I wasn't plat with VA I would probably take JQ. Although I think the 787 has largely or totally disappeared from DPS routes?

I'm confused...why is SQ sending you this? I guess they are part of the connecting itinerary? Can you manage your booking on the SQ site and check the status of that sector on your eTicket there?

Are you saying that YOUR TICKET shows a VA flight number...OR, that the flight in general had a VA flight number (obvs as it was VA operated) in addition to codeshare flight number? At both of these airports...EVERYONE does primary security screening at the gate (except SIN T4 it seems...which has no flights to LHR). It has nothing to do with the destination.

They waive for US itineraries for 24 hours...because that's a DoT regulation.

I don't think the UK is subjecting anyone to secondary security screening. It has certainly never happened to me in Thailand or UAE, when it does on flights to Australia from those countries.

If domestic terror events had never happened here, I'd maybe agree...but... Instead Australia's domestic liquid regs are a huge international outlier.
