Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

I'm somewhat glad that the Government gambled with the economy rather than our lives ;)

Legality [of Airports Blocking VA liveried Aircraft]

I can picture an irate pilot arguing with the "parking inspector"...……….

Legality [of Airports Blocking VA liveried Aircraft]

Maybe, but would PER have done what they did if VA paid their bill? What's PER's "commercial sense and judgement" got to do with VA being a poor payer? If you buy a service you should pay for it, or you run the risk of that provider withdrawing their service. Or taking other measures. I doubt...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Yep. Dead right. And let's not allow the story of exactly HOW we got to be self-funded retirees get in the way of a good "free-ride" bash.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Sometimes it's better to be rid of something bad than to enable it to carry on?

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Or maybe the landlord took the opportunity to get rid of a tenant that had been a pain in the bum for a while, and didn't care about the rent. ;) We'll never know, but having been fisted by more than one tenant myself I know that it isn't always the tenant who's the lovely, nice person and the...

Legality [of Airports Blocking VA liveried Aircraft]

I can't actually believe that people are classing PER airport as the bad guys here. Rudimentary cause /effect analysis would say that this, symbolically, wouldn't have happened if VA paid for what they got!

The main thing it says to me is - PAY YOUR DEBTS.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Not paying your bills is a reasonable way of pissing off someone you’ve had a business relationship with for 20 years also. I‘ve worked for and with businesses who are best described as “tardy” when it comes to paying for what they’ve already received, but don’t they squeal when the vendor...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Maybe, maybe not. Its crystal ball stuff in both eventualities on which case will cost us more. Does not change my opinion on whose responsibility it is to bail out Virgin though. And perhaps the bloke throwing poo at the Aus Govt should shut his gob while he resides in a tax haven.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Ever thought whether the financiers would have been needed in the first place if the business was being successfully run? The fact the business is going bankrupt in an abnormal course of events doesn't make it less broke. My point is the government has considerably better things to tip it's...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Tripe. On both counts. Virgin was a financial basket case before the corona virus dramas. Were the owners able to tip some cash in? Would Virgin have become financially unviable so quickly if their lead-in position was "better"? If the owners want to keep THEIR business viable the THEY can...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

I'd think that the pool of votes who DON'T have skin in the Virgin game is a tad larger...……... I'm way more likely to remember a government that pissed good money after bad when the owners didn't do squat, and didn't do squat WELL before all this happened.

I think it's one of the "best view" lounges in the country also, especially this time of the year.

    Upset Qantas FF silver member

You might be loyal to QF but the reality is they’re a business and they, really, are there to get you from A to B safely. No more than that. i would suggest that if you haven’t made LTG after 30 years then you’re not perhaps making the best use of the program to maximise your status. Good luck...

    Entertainment in overseas lounges

Cruiser, Willow.tv is an app that allows you to receive cricket live to phones/tablets both android and apple. No fee, but I do suspect that you’d need a VPN in US/Canada as they are the provider in those countries. I’ve run it for years in Aus without a VPN on remote minesites. I have just...

    Entertainment in overseas lounges

I watched the majority of the second test from Adelaide in Athens through Willow on my iPad via WiFi in the accom I was staying at. Highly recommended. It’s free and hasn’t needed a VPN anywhere I’ve been.

Yep , me neither. But if ya gotta go, ya gotta go. Argue later, but it’s never in your favour then.

None if it has ever been bad by me. It’s free after all. I’ve certainly paid for way worse.
