Absolutely correct - I find that gin does a pretty good job though :). To the OP - I'm sure it'll be fine, I've travelled with babies in J in the past and it was a lot easier to keep them amused, get them to sleep than it was in Y. For a 4 hour daytime flight I can't see any problems.

I think it works like this - if its a two class flight (F and Y) and you're booked onto AA then you'll sit in F and get F SCs and points. If it's 3 class (F, J and Y) then you'll sit in J and get J SCs and points. The one to watch is a two class flight where you book onto (for example) the QF...

Just to bring this thread down to the mundane. An iron and ironing board are indispensible to me. I've had a bad run in the last few weeks with turning up late at night and needing to iron a shirt for the next morning. Sad I know with all this talk of upgrades and executive lounges ;)

I always aim for 13 on the A380 (and flit between window and centre aisle depending on my mood when I'm selecting seats). I've never noticed more noise there than in other rows.

I think it's a great use of their time. I've had it happen to me a couple of times where I've made a late booking and someone from the SST has phoned up to advise that a better seat has come free - I really appreciate it.
