Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust dom po

Re: Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust do Should have also added that I travel with hand luggage only - as you rightly point out the ability to accept tight connections is much greater this way

Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust dom po

Re: Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust do I'm probably the odd one out here but I'm more than happy for QF to have short connection times - it minimises the amount of time I have to be away from home. i.e. last week I took the QF574/11 combination...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Hi all, Just wondering if any WP1's have experience with the number of guests allowed in the Sydney Flounge? I believe the published limit is one guest (and I presume that kids under 18 don't count as guests) but I was wondering if any WP1's have experience of discretion being shown for an extra...

Iron and ironing board - can't understand how come so many hotels don't provide them in the room

Qantas metal (planes) flying out of Perth

I have a lot of sympathy for the OP - I to am a Perth based WP1 and will hit around 5500 SCs this year (slightly up from last year). However I'll likely miss the 2700 requal because there's both fewer QF flights and it's simply getting harder and harder to find reasonably priced QF flights from...

EK upgrade "Love" on QF / EK coded flights - success rate?

Re: EK upgrade love J to F op-ups on QF9 DXB - LHR, EK008 LHR - DXB and EK423 DXB - PER a couple of weeks ago. Got to love those school holidays. It did, however, remind me that I prefer QF F to EK F - I suspect that I'm in the minority.

    What a ... [reclining dispute]

That's a bit like saying "if there's a touch sensitive seatback screen then I can press it as often as I like" regardless of the fact that it might irritate the person in the seat in front. Everyone needs a bit of consideration for fellow passengers - both the recliner and the reclinee. I must...

P1 - Chances of being comped from WP

It's not the 3600 that I struggle with - it's the 2700. Being Perth based getting the ~ is becoming increasingly difficult. I'm currently 4 months into my year with 2000 SCs in the bank and 1500 booked for the next couple of months. Unfortunately only about 600 will be on QF flight numbers...

QF A380 Business Window seat ease of access

After fumbling with my calculator I find that my 5"9" is 175.3cm :D. Now I know why I'm ok stepping over people (although I must admit to a couple of unsteady moments after the G&Ts and reds have taken full effect)

QF A380 Business Window seat ease of access

I used to be a dedicated centre seat person so as to avoid being a climber or climbee. Last few flights I've alternated between centre aisle and window and am becoming a bit of a window fan again. I really like the side storgae bin and the extra space it gives you. I don't find it a problem to...

    Business Class with Baby?

Absolutely correct - I find that gin does a pretty good job though :). To the OP - I'm sure it'll be fine, I've travelled with babies in J in the past and it was a lot easier to keep them amused, get them to sleep than it was in Y. For a 4 hour daytime flight I can't see any problems.

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I've generally been very happy with the P1 SST - a couple of times they've helped out when they've seen flights being delayed and connections that I'm in danger of missing. My only complaint about P1 is the shadow thing - I'm sure I get it less that I did as a WP. It just irritates me when I...

    Are dONE4's upgradeable ?

I think it works like this - if its a two class flight (F and Y) and you're booked onto AA then you'll sit in F and get F SCs and points. If it's 3 class (F, J and Y) then you'll sit in J and get J SCs and points. The one to watch is a two class flight where you book onto (for example) the QF...

What's Your All Time Favorite Hotel Amenity?

Yeah - and I'm an avid user of hotel laundry facilities as a result of my hand luggage only travels. The problem is that, as happened to me a couple of weeks ago in the middle of China, when you arrive after midnight and need to be at a meeting early next morning getting the pressing service can...

What's Your All Time Favorite Hotel Amenity?

Just to bring this thread down to the mundane. An iron and ironing board are indispensible to me. I've had a bad run in the last few weeks with turning up late at night and needing to iron a shirt for the next morning. Sad I know with all this talk of upgrades and executive lounges ;)

    Help with Seat Selection on BNE-LAX - J ; DFW-BNE - PE

I always aim for 13 on the A380 (and flit between window and centre aisle depending on my mood when I'm selecting seats). I've never noticed more noise there than in other rows.

QF/EK RTW fare - has anyone seen one?

Hi, I'm interested in this as well. Since the tie up I've only done one RTW ticket and that was setting off eastwards from Perth (essentially I went Perth - Sydney - South America - London - Singapore - Perth and so was unaffected by the Emirates tie up. I'm now looking at another RTW trip but...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I think it's a great use of their time. I've had it happen to me a couple of times where I've made a late booking and someone from the SST has phoned up to advise that a better seat has come free - I really appreciate it.
