QF RTW - Flight change (HND to NRT)

It was more frequent in the before times, every 20 minutes IIRC, but a lot of the private railway companies reduced frequency in the pandemic. Also google maps seems to show a change of trains which is slightly quicker, and more expensive but also inconvenient. I assume this is where rome2rio...

QF RTW - Flight change (HND to NRT)

There is a direct train run by the Tokyu and Keisei lines. 1 seat all the way and it costs 1709¥ Which is much less than the bus. Plus you can load a suica card onto your phone so you don’t even need to stop to get a ticket. Very convenient, but it’s a shame that the borders are closed.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I'm doing really well out of the 4 points/USD on restaurants on the Amex Gold, a lot of local independent food retailers, code as restaurants, the butcher and fish monger I go to for example. Not sure I can really make use of many of the other benefits with the card, but the points are rolling...

    Where to get a pre-flight COVID-19 test?

Thanks, good info. Unless anyone knows of a cheaper in town location its a choice between an additional trip to the airport to see histopath the day before or an expensive test in town.

    Where to get a pre-flight COVID-19 test?

I’m now booked to go to Singapore for Australia Day week. Itinerary is a 0800 up to Sydney followed by 1120 on to Singapore. Should I do histopath before the domestic leg? will they let me check in for the ininerary if my results come in the air to Sydney? Or should I not chance it and get...

How to apply for Japan Entry

For anyone holding their breath on Japan reopening, this picture tells a story. 7 Cases nationwide, all in Tokyo, which will provide lots of ammunition to those who would like to keep the borders shut, hopefully more sensible heads will prevail. (NB Testing only just became free in Japan so...

How to apply for Japan Entry

This seems like wishful thinking on the part of the Australian government. I have not seen anything in the japanese media that suggests this is being worked on. The japanese cabinet secretary has promised to make a further announcement on immigration, including tourism before the end of the...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Japan still owns a lot of Australia, but there's been no issue with deal making in the last 18 months with no travel. As much as I would like it to be otherwise a few more months is neither here nor there, especially with Summer here and New Year There shutting everything down for a while. I'd...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

NSW is due to end the vaccination requirement on December 15th or when they reach 95% double dose. Given NSW is at 94% first dose it seem likely that the target will be reached very early in December. So less of a problem in NSW.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

If it’s about business travel then Japan is ‘open’ for business travel. Yes the process is hopelessly bureaucratic but it’s there. I’m not sure australia has any say or influence in the matter. The japanese cabinet secretary has promised a further announcement on border opening ‘before the end...
