We’re all armchair fleet planners here. The a330s are the oldest planes in the fleet, but very good at what they do, transcons and Asia. I was ever so slightly surprised that some a330neo purchases weren’t announced as part of the deal, some of those planes are pushing 20 years old.

I must have misremembered. It's a good call in any case, both these aircraft have wider seats in Y than the 737.

Does Qantas still have 737-MAX orders? 20 Business clss seats on the A321 is interesting. 8 more than on capital routes today - must be planning for new ways to monetise upgrades, or maybe they already can see how much demand there is. I rarely see an empty BC seat SYD-MEL on a 737 these days.

That does seem odd. Last time I connected through Changi (2019) going HND-SIN-PER we were running late, but I was met at the door and jogged to the connecting flight that had only just started boarding.

Sadly the answer isn’t so simple. Mainly this is an issue with being able to select 6A on a 737-800, which really isn’t all that. It’s not being able to snag 2K on and a330 is where it gets annoying.

It’s a direct train, I’ve ridden it many times. It’s crosses the tracks of several railways but it’s one train, no transfers.
