    International Destinations for NTL

Sure but imo they'd be better targetting other capital cities for extra fluggts or even flying from OOL (as a point of difference) before NTL. Unfortunately the arrival times for some of the connecting flights leave a lot to be desired i.e. NAN-HNL is in the wee small hours of the am.

    What cheeses me off

WCMO is when your seat (that you chose 11 months ago) gets changed at boarding for non-operational reasons. ETA call out to CSM who unprompted came up to me and acknowledged i was unfairly moved and gave me first choice of meals so I wouldn't get lumbered with what was left due to being moved...

Article: Latest Changes May Not Fix Qantas’ Reward Availability Problem

Yep there are millions of members but very few actively earning and redeeming serious points year on year. Your average active AFF member is not representative of the average QFF member. AFF members are actively pursuing premium awards, most QFF members have more tempered expectations (someone...

Article: Latest Changes May Not Fix Qantas’ Reward Availability Problem

Despite the heading of this thread, i don't think the recent changes were ever meant to fix award availability problem for QFF members wanting premium redemptions. In fact I doubt Qantas would even agree there is a problem, they are having no issues selling points and the loyalty division is...

    International Destinations for NTL

I said NTL, which as you know is in Williamtown not Newcastle. Have read nothing re HSR to NTL, and with so few flights it will never make sense. Why? I not sure if there is demand for more capacity to Fiji, and if there is that it would be coming from Newcastle area. Fiji has gotten quite...

    What cheeses me off

If you feel labelling is too small report the company to fair trading or TGA and complain to the manufacturer. It's a coughpy tactic they use to hide details hoping you won't read it. As far as I know only foods and drugs have recommended font sizes and even then aside from headings (8 point)...

Is is worth getting Qantas Club Membership for a few Hours?

Seems very expensive for 1 trip where you may not even get to use the lounge in SIN. All it's takes is a delay in leg 1 and you may find yourself with insufficient time to walk to the lounge, eat something and get all the way back to the gate.

    International Destinations for NTL

There won't ever be high speed rail link to NTL.

And are you an optometrist or opthomologist? Cause I'm sitting with one right now who agrees wholeheartedly with my post. Old age doesn't defy physics, if a magnifying glass helps so will the correct pair of glasses.

    What cheeses me off

Nope that is why they make multi-focals (3 prescriptions in 1 pair of glasses) or why you have different pairs for different purposes. A magnifying glass is after all just another lense; albeit far less practical as it ties up the use of one of your hands. And of course if you are getting...

I'm in the QF Lounge thread

MEL Dom J is an absolute zoo this arvo barely a seat available, toilets filthy no hand towels. I take back my comments re the AKL F cupboard at least it was clean.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF641 BNE-MEL 11:20 departure. Choice of scones with jam & cream OR hashbrowns with beef OR chicken salad with Japanese style sesame dressing. Went for the salad, quite nice (except for the celery pieces). The warm blueberry pastry was also nice. Apparently there was sourdough but catering...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF120 AKL-BNE 7am departure. PDB of sparkling wine, sparkling water or still water offered. Choice of Corn Fritters with Chorizo & spinach or feta & spinach Quiche or Quinoa pudding. Had the Corn Fritters, was ok the chorizo was quite spicy ignored the spinach. I didn't eat the yoghurt or...

Article: The Benefits of Sitting at the Back of the Plane

Absolutely nothing wrong with a policy of paid customer only usage of facilities at a cafe or restaurant. If you haven't made a purchase then you need to go and find an actual public toilet. There is a cost for the cafe/restaurant to clean facilities only an entitled brat would expect to use...

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Woke up early as never sleep well when I have an early flight, so got to AKL ~30mins before I expected, so a quick visit the the QF F Lounge (cough cupboard) for a cheesy scone with bacon (just incase plane breaky is vego) and a double shot coffee. I can report only one flavour of ice cream...

Emirates lounge at AKL Closed for refreshment Until March 2025

I suspect the answer would be no. If you were flying EK J or had status with them im sure it wouldn't be a problem. But if you are flying QF and relying on OW status I suspect you will be sent back to the QF cupboard. Normally I allow for lounge time, but AKL QF lounge was so underwhelming...

Article: The Benefits of Sitting at the Back of the Plane

If you want to be close to the toilets sit at the back, im very happy to be seated well away from them given wont be using them on anything under 10 hours, and at worst once on a longer flight. It's not just the smells from the toilets but the constant stream of chatty passengers standing over...
