I don't know if it's quite this serious yet. QF are still profitable. Ansett was an excellent airline but TN was even better. Unfortunately (speaking as an ex TN employee), QF swallowed TN, got rid of most of the TN staff and the rest, they say, is history. I got out at the right time...

I've often stated that PNG might be the world's premier tourism destination, if it wasn't for the endemic corruption and crime. It really is one of the most astonishing places on earth. Corruption, bribery, theft, murder, payback et al is a way of life up there. Sadly, I can't see it changing.
