Never been gifted an upgrade as a WP on Virgin. Only time was when travelling on a QF ticket on a SIN to SYD BA operated flight, was upgraded to PE from Y.

Totally agree, I will miss the NZ lounge, it was the best. In saying that, I'm glad it's the EY lounge instead of SQ when flying to LAX. But yeh, it's a total mess with different lounges for nearly each destination.

If this article is true it is terrible news. The Air NZ lounge in Sydney is great, much better than Singapore's. JB must have really pissed off Luxon! I hope we don't lose LAX *A lounge too. Although I think I remember reading this is in fact on the cards when Delta finish the T5 reno.

Yep, upgrade success on a Y Space+ seat to PE for $810. Minimum was $800.

First time to fly in the new PE config yesterday and sat in 17A. Very happy with it however the seat is placed slightly too far forward past the window so if you're like me and get the window seat to watch the decent into LAX you need to rotate your head quite a bit - that's a minor issue...

Brunch on the 11am SYD to BNE flight today - breakfast burrito. May not look appetising but actually thought it was good. No sparkling wine, was told that it had been trialled previously and may be coming back? Had an absolutely awesome CSM, Kelly-Anne, who made me a great sangria instead!

Good to see VFF posting here. I'd love to see more engagement from them with this community. Sure its only a small subset of their 6 million members but its a group of VA's most loyal and vocal customers.

I find it interesting what features of a loyalty program people value. Personally I use Fly Ahead almost everytime I fly for work (between SYD and MEL). But I also value family pooling. And I value being able to seat select in row 3. Maybe I'm expecting too much :lol: But on the other hand...

That's true, I agree, Fly Ahead was used heavily and a lot of us on this very forum simply book the last flight of the night and fly when ever we get to the airport, such a great system. But for minodude flying 80 times a year, what's that relationship worth to VA? They aren't valuing lifetime...

Yeah you unfortunately can't do it outbound from AUS. Everyone needs to clear customs at LAX and collect bags. However outbound from LAX, you can avail of airside transfer to TBIT.
