I can’t imagine the power draw of an airport, but generators are a nonsense idea. Look at the size of what you need to power a simple fridge. Even planes draw power from the airport until they depart. Scale the airport down to essential only and it would be a battery just to keep the lights on...

Probably your perception is incorrect in the first place. Most people sign up to these things and don’t use the perks and the banks make money. Most people here would book points seats outright, not hoping for upgrades.

Are you sure it’s worldwide? A lot of annual ones are only worldwide if that’s what you select. Or it’s just poor programming. Nib for example is worldwide or”worldwide without Nepal and USA”

Not sure what is reasonable but Westin ebisu is great and hadn’t gone up as much as similar hotels. About 5-10 walk to ebisu station which is in the main Yamanote line.
