    Option 1 or 2?

I'm confused. From what I understand you're already Gold, therefore given you have taken a flight / made a booking prior to 31 Dec 22, your current gold status will be continued for next membership year. Have I missed something? Regarding your other question, no, status credits apply to the...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

That sounds correct. I assume you mean row 24? 23 is blocked for P1 on domestic flights so therefore what I said above holds. For domestic travel, first row of economy (rows 23 and 4) is blocked for P1 with different rules then applying for intl (e.g. emerald ability to book r4 on TT).

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Indeed it was and totally agree that it would be great if they did cater these dishes more widely. Challenge is, where do they stop as you can’t cater everything everywhere. I was tempted to go with the tikka for the first meal and in hindsight wish I had. Next time…

If memory serves me correctly, R4 on AU>NZ flights I thought is available for all Emeralds whereas it's only available for P1's on AU domestic routes. Were you able to select R4 on your MEL>SYD (if 737).

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Recent QF69 (😁) menu and food. Menu itself (at least the first half) very similar to one's we've seen previously. Chicken salad ok, barra ok also. The biryani was quite tasty as was the tiramisu. I had the cheese for the dessert with the first meal which was a typical QF cheese plate. Am...

Definitely either of those points is plausible given the lack of real positive news.

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Yes dropped in value but let's not forget that the 'value' that's often been ascribed to these prizes relate to QF flights whereby the appear to quote the most costly fare bucket for the flights component so the value is somewhat overstated. Plus, it's a good way for QF to flog some business...

That menu is identical to the one I had on QF7 in early-May. You would think they could at least change them if not monthly then seasonally...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

It's not a mistake. Even though technically a domestic leg, it's still counted as the first leg of an international sector and it's PE. Also, PE doesn't exist from a dom perspective. Think of it in a similar context to AA in the US with their dom 'First' (i.e. business) vs int'l first* (obv...

    Ask The Pilot

Again, might not be one for this particular thread but given we have an esteemed QF A380 (retired) driver I figured it was the best place I could think of to ask. As we know, QF are retiring / scrapping two of its 12 A380's (apparently one is being scrapped as we speak). The two that have been...

Now that is a shame. Thanks though. Appreciate the links / photo. Will take a look when I can.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Do you (or anyone else for that matter) happen to have a QF69 menu as I'm on it in just over a weeks time. Apologies if you posted this already, however from searching I couldn't find it.

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Yes, can typically take a week or two to change over. I sampled this menu a couple of times last month. Bang Bang salad was good, as was the barramundi. The pork belly was too soy / salty for my liking. S&P squid was same as usual.

QF Oz to USA September 2022 - preferred route?

Given the choices you've outlined the 7 to DFW (and return) would be my pick for a number of reasons: Afternoon departure from Sydney meaning you can have a relaxing lunch in the F-lounge and also aren't battling the morning departure rush (having been there for both the QF1 and QF7 recently...

    Platinum Newsletter

Whilst I appreciate I'm off topic, delays are also happening due to weather. I'm glad I got out last week as a colleague was meant to get home Thursday morning on the 8, now not getting home until tomorrow evening at 21.30 after missing the 8, then having to go to LAX, BNE and finally SYD.

Having just done a US trip last week it was relatively painless. Attestation completed online with email of completed form sent. Turned up to check in with passport, vaccination certificate and proof of negative Covid result (from chemist warehouse) in physical copy, attestation (digital copy...

Second P1 invite ever. Have been offered tickets to Mary Poppins at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in June. My first and only other invite was to the cricket back in late March 2020 with the event being cancelled due to Covid. In terms of other recent experiences - was in the US last week for work...

How long until you get to LTP? (Or are you already there ^_~)

Saw my first LTP metal bag tag in the wild on way back from DFW this week. Looked nice, though not sure 75,000 SCs nice

Not a problem. Re the CX lounge - unless you plan on getting there nice and early, the CX lounge closes at 17:30. Given the 21:05 departure time of QF2 and the fact that I was coming straight from the office, I was well and truly after this time
