QF A380 back in service from January 11

Does anyone know how many A380s QF current have on rotation as based on the post above on I would have thought 6, but can only seem to account for 4 frames?

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Anyone know what’s going on with the 1 at the moment? A cancellation and some significant delays in the past week. Todays (Tue 4 Oct) appears to be heavily delayed also.

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Whilst you are entitled to your opinion, given the P1 requirement is 3x that of retaining WP (with a 2700 requirement on QF / JQ) then in my opinion it is entirely fair to gift the status. Given the additional nominal benefits of P1, you could argue that the P1 has effectively earned WP for...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Not a problem. It's on the status activity page under your current year earn (see below). I only noticed I could gift the status to another person when I logged in one day to find that Person 1 had dropped off. Before gifting to person 2 I did check with person 1 that they still had Platinum and...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I am not sure with respect to your specific question, however in light of the COVID status extensions, my experience was I had gifted Plat to person 1, then when COVID extensions were enacted their status was extended meaning I was then able to gift to person 2. Given the recent announcement of...

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

At that time of year corporate travel has fallen off a cliff. They are more likely able to sell a revenue Y ticket than J as leisure travellers are much more price sensitive. If a leisure traveller has to go they are going to choose the $500 Y fare over the $1000+ J fare 99 times out of 100.

Qantas to Launch SYD-AKL-JFK (June 2023)

It's also shorter than QF's current PER-LHR flights, although I do note that I haven't factored in the element of the wind here. AirNZ could send the bags via one of their many other US destinations if bag offloading becomes a regular occurrence.

Thank you. Will see how I feel on the day!

    Qantas First Lounge in Singapore

Apologies for the second OT question - which lounge would you recommend when travelling QF1/2 given the relatively short layover?

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Thanks. Will be interested to see whether I’m offered on my trip next month. Though I am also hoping that the upgrade fairies come through for me

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

How did you book the spa? At the lounge on arrival or are the first hosts back doing the call around prior?

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Yes, I’ve had the same response in the Syd lounge. And given I could see they had the ingredients required was a little annoyed. Slight OT, however this was one of the points of feedback I provided in a recent survey and the particular question was around lounge experience / service. Not sure...

Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Well it does exist, they just appear to be cutting the domestic leg. It's still available on Dec 6 PER-LHR but MEL-PER is no longer there

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

Agreed and certainly not positive. Thought if you're travelling on the triangle route at peak times, I've found it quite difficult to maintain a shadow in r4/5 as people either a) select the middle at T-80 as they don't want to be seated in Siberia (i.e. further than row 8) or b) someone gets...

Whist you are correct that Humpty Doo (the place) isn't on a waterway, Humpty Doo barramundi is farmed barramundi which is indeed local produce - Humpty Doo Barramundi | Premium Fish, Wild Territory

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I'm in the same boat Matt - I will requalify this year which will extend me to Mar 24 (although turns out QF would have done this even if I hadn't stepped on a flight) and then suspect I will drop to WP and maintain that level from there. My experiences (both int'l and domestic) when I first...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I would say I'm amazed that QF is still cycling these menus through after 5+ months but I'm not - these are the same as I've experienced going to UK and US in May. You used to get a little more variety across different international routes, however doesn't appear to be the case anymore (with the...

    Qantas-IndiGo partnership

Yes, you are correct. It was ~9hr layover, however it allowed a full days work prior to flying out the evening. I used to get on the CX flight, sleep through to HKG, arrive around am, grab breakfast at the Wing, then have a bath in the cabana before making my way to the Pier for some lunch, sit...

    Qantas-IndiGo partnership

The timing of QF68 is what get's me. I generally travel to MAA 3-6 times per year for a week at a time and my preferred routing was via HKG (obviously pre COVID and political issues with HK). Would head up on the Sunday to be in the office Monday and then could do a full day Friday before the...

    Platinum One Status Run

Definitely not worth it. If you were a few hundred away then maybe, but not if you're only a third of the way there. IMO, you'd be best to wait until post Oct 22, and just earn WP in your new membership year to extend it to Oct 24. Not to mention that some of your SC's will roll over so you...
