You will probably find anecdotal reports of compensation on here somewhere. My experience from 2014 was 3000 points for PER-MEL with non-functioning IFE.

I think you may find that the vouchers are to help whilst on board, and compensation will follow after the flight (i.e points, $ etc).

I can recall DSC for December last year, and at least the one prior to that so not necessarily a new thing.

This is something that has run for a number of Xmas periods now from memory. I don't believe that it is targeted.
