QFF: No more earning points through Starwood

Not a big deal for me personally, but this might affect those who pump their Starwood stays into QFF:

From 14 August 2008 you will be unable to earn Frequent Flyer
points at Starwood Hotels or Resorts, or transfer Starwood
Preferred Guest points into Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
Plus, from 1 July 2008 you will be unable to redeem points for
Starwood vouchers~~~~. Starwood Hotels and Resorts include the
following hotel groups: St. Regis®, The Luxury Collection®,
Sheraton®, Westin®, Four Points® by Sheraton, W®, Le Méridien®
Aloft® and Element®.

That was totally unexpected even though I don't normally stay in Starwood properties.

Shame really - I stay at the occasional SPG hotel - anyhow, I've just transfered all my point into QFF while I still can... shame it wasn't in excess of 20K to get the bonus 5K points.

How bizarre .. near all airlines ofn earth allow the transfer.

All my miles are in SPG and will stay there.
