In post #34, what is the purpose of the barrier in the sea? To denote that you can't swim beyond there?

Me too! And a girly swot! And all those other "insults" for people who are afraid to break the rules (apart from my tendency to "collecting"). So I always get a permit, and almost always get the same reactions that you have reported - only place that cared at all was Japan.
