I seriously hate enclosed piss on aircraft - I refuse to sit in a sheep pen - I am in 6E today and 6F beside me empty to first request to Crew is no doors closed and middle divider down at all times please:

First time transiting new FRA T3 today - drop off / checkin / security a breeze - then we hit immigration - OMFG!!!

Equal to worst most disorganized ‘cluster coughk’ you could ever imagine - over an hour to get through at 7am this morning.

But there is a story - whilst standing in line waiting for immig I turn around and I have this seriously tall blonde female beauty right behind me - god seriously gave her a whack with the ‘lovely’ stick.

After ten mins not moving she asks me ‘Do you actually know what line we are standing in?’ - Sorry no idea but everybody is joining this line so I guess it’s the one - ZERO staff members anywhere to be seen.

Painted on the ground where we are standing is a marked line ‘Non EU Passports’ - blondie pointed to it and said ‘I am Bulgarian - I have EU Passport maybe I should not be in this line.

Few mins later a red coat appears and blondie grabbed him - he directed her to go ahead and process electronically and she waves goodbye and disappears.

I board plane and settle in to 6E and lo and behold who appears and sits in 6A - blondie. She sees me and waves hello.

After takeoff she is out of her seat and standing at the bar rear of cabin - I got up and approached her and we had a great chat. Turns out she is actually a QR 320 pilot who had been home to Bulgaria to see elderly parents. Her name is Georgia and she is also married to a QR 380 pilot.

I won’t bore you with too much detail but one line from her did make me giggle. We went back and forth about occupations etc and I said ‘My god I thought you would be a super model or such’ - ‘oh NO NO NO NEVER’ was her reply - then ‘My best friend is but they are all such coughes!’

Lovely amenity packs too:

Female on the left - male to the right - that’s coz men are always right is it not?

Jokes aside the female little outer bag is so sweet - Shani my #1 Crew Member has already gifted me 6 of these* - the Ette will love gifting these to some deserving recipient.

* Here is one for ‘the holier than thou’ fraternity who hold the theory that ‘Gifting to Cabin Crew’ is nothing short of ‘an attempted bribe to receive something in return over and above’.

Guess what? It worked today - ALL Flight and Cabin loved their gifts - almost all from Y came up and said tks

Some brief thoughts:

Hard Product
Seat - Nothing spectacular - totally acceptable - excellent wide adjustable table - didn’t partake in IFE too busy interacting with Crew - I am not a big herringbone fan at all - I spend a big part of my life acting crooked I don’t need to sit crooked on a plane - but what a pain the shoulder seat belt is - squeezes the guts out of you

Wines
Gosset I seriously like so enjoyed a few of them - I quaffed 2 x BS Rose also but both Champs just not cold enough.
The Bordeau did nothing for me - the Syrah very drinkable

Pros
Staff very active and attentive
Dining on demand is a big +
Bread basket / little candle with lunch such little plusses
Cheeses - check the cracker basket - you send back you do not need ask for more like SQ

Cons
Champs just not cold enough
Slow to bring the red before serving soup
Soup a tad watery and just not hot
#1 Crew Member Shani delivering his Sommelier lines as he is pouring wine is just so plastic and not required
Sparkling water room temp - really?
Steak cold and overcooked - barely edible - big fail
Sparkling water San Pellegrino - no request would you like ice and lemon in that like SQ
I do not eat dessert - I eat ice-cream - zero ice-cream onboard
WiFi - non Starlink fitted aircraft - 1hr free for Privilege Club Members - then you must pay after that - cost is USD10 regardless flt duration - aircraft not fitted with Starlink will be progressively retrofitted over next couple mths - but what penny pinching now - WiFi so slow even Crew Members telling me don’t waste your money we land in 2 hours - FFS
But here is the real kicker - for 3 hrs of flt path on a 6hr flt we are over regions where WiFi not available - I kid you not
Regular cabin checks by Crew seemed non existent - empty wine glass sat next to me for over an hour after I told Crew I didn’t want anymore drinks.
Overall acceptable but far from knocking my socks off
Crew 100% did their best and were very accommodating - delivered on 100% of what I requested
BUT
They still just lack the polish of SQ IMHO

First impression is ‘What is all the fuss about’ 🤷‍♂️ -again first impression is it’s a bit like sitting in a shoe box.

Please don’t think an ex SQ fanboi just launching a derogatory tirade but I was kinda expecting to go WOW and not WTF.

I get it some people want to hide in their little pods away from the world but I hate being enclosed / confined so the high walls and doors just don’t do it for me - but let’s see how it pans out 👍
