Hi all,

Trying to book CMB→MEL (or via any hub) on Qantas classic reward points for 2 passengers in economy, around 23-24 February 2027.

Problems:
  • flightrewardfinder.qantas.com shows no CMB originating flights (known system limitation)
  • Called 13 13 13 3 times — 2 offshore agents saying no flights exist, 1 said it does but the call dropped
  • Previous agent confirmed CMB→HKG (the MEL) on SriLankan is available but couldn't book it
I know CMB is one of those origins that requires a manual long sell. Looking for someone who's successfully booked this route or knows the exact flight codes and fare classes to give the right agent.

Happy to call back armed with the right info. Any help appreciated.

Easiest way to search for yourself is to make it a multi-city booking to check availability then call up.

I.e.
20 FEB - MEL-SYD
23 FEB - CMB-MEL

I just did a quick search - using the method stated by muppet, above.

There are Jetstar seats non-stop CMB-MEL on the 23rd of Feb. But there are no Sri Lankan seats on 23, 24 Feb, and business class only in both Jetstar and Sti Lankan on 25 feb.
