Have added a third cruise for 2027. Got a total of 25% discount on it, through various Ponant discounts: status, on-board booking, prior cruise changed itinerary compo etc.

Now, just have to figure out (or have the TA figure out) the best airfare to get to Paris and then back from Montreal.
We'll be in the vicinity at the same time RF. We leave Nuuk on Sep 3

We have booked Japan for Cherry blossom season (10 days) . We were able to find seats out of Australia just before Easter Friday (with a Singapore layover). So whilst we don't have firm plans, we are starting in Osaka and flying out of Japan from Tokyo.

The Rugby world cup is here in Australia, so we will do a couple of domestic trips around some group round matches.

The rest probably I'll try to organise as we go or depending on how our winter blues go in the next coming months... :)

Well I finally bit the bullet and booked the W-trek in Patagonia next March. Went for the slightly cheaper options but it's interesting the accommodation on one side of the national park is run by one company and is reasonably priced, while another company runs the other side and is totally over the top with their prices. Now I've got to jump on cheap flights to Santiago, having missed the QFF reward seat release it seems. I followed prices on Flight Hopper last year and there was a sale at one stage offering about $1400 returns but currently the cheapest is about $2150 (LATAM). Also have to build the rest of the trip around this hike which will include a visit to the Argentinian side including El Chalten and Fitz Roy. Also hope to get further south to Ushuaia. Looking at up to three weeks total.

2027 will be a very quiet year for us, with one of the kids staring secondary school and the +1 in a new role. We've pulled both our kids out of primary school for lots of holidays and enjoyed it

January we'll be finishing up the Scotland/UK/Skiing in France holiday, with a week in Bright VIC to warm up at the end of Jan.

Easter we'll be back in Bright again

Then Xmas Scotland/Uk/Italy skiing

Actually doesn't sound quiet I guess :)

Patagonia is a really special chunk of Gaia.. enjoy...
Thanks, can't wait. Nephew just came back from there. There was a super deal on points a while ago he got.
Will be my first time in South America, have been to the other continents, barring Antarctica.

Starting with NYE in HKG
A 1-week trip to Kauai during the fall (it is our favourite Hawaian island, much less touristy and more nature oriented)
Fitting Sunshine Coast/Noosa in some long-weekend and Cairns in another one.
Wrapping the year with a RTW that is only half-planned at the moment, but should contemplate a few days in a Caribbean island, NYC before Christmas, likely NYE in Italy (somewhere between Florence, Milan or Rome) before returning home

Looking to go to the U.S. either later this year or next, but finding business class reward seats is far and few between.

There appears to be some first class seats between NRT and LAX, but that requires travelling to Japan and on JL. Japan is fine, but JL I'd rather pass.

There also appears to be some via AF, but that requires travelling then wrong way around the world, adding almost a whole day onto the trip plus a lot more points.

QF and AA direct flights are pretty dry, not even premium economy.

Who knows, maybe there will be that random batch seat release 2-3 months out from the flying date.

Did this (including El Chalten) in 2022 if you need any pointers :) My main one would be book the bus back out of the national park before you go - we decided to wing it because we weren't sure on timings, and it was a bit of a cluster. Ended up waiting over 4 hours.

Is that the bus back from the park entrance to Puerto Natales? Good tip. I do plan on booking as much as possible before leaving. Also the bus from Puerto Natales to El Calafate. I may be in touch. It's a ways off yet but won't be long.

Yep. You can always book one later than you think you will need too - they will take you on earlier buses if you have pre-booked (before they offer to take any who haven't yet booked).

Good to know.

Finally booked The Stans! May 2027.
I visited Almaty and Bishkek briefly in May 2026 but wouldn't mind returning to Kazakhstan to experience People's Unity Day on 1 May 2027!

Booked our usual week down the NSW South Coast in January, throw that on the pile. It appears I'm moving into pre-retirement mode. I've got a trip away about two months apart from next weekend until the start of April now. I've got an array of post-it notes on the wall in front of my computer with the dates so I don't forget anything. While they are in the calendar it's handy to have them in front of me when on the phone regarding possible work travel.

Update with bookings made based on the current situation in Iran:

NZ South Island - booked using QF and VA, late Jan-early Feb. Wanted to lock in prices before fuel surcharges potentially get added, also hitting tail end of high season.

Turkiye and Uzbekistan - Had to transfer VA and some Chase Ultimate Rewards (USA) to SQ for J outbound to IST given the unpredictability and not willing to risk delays and DNT warnings. Return used QF for MH BKK-KUL-BNE in Y but using day flight to BNE. Planning to book regional flights TK/HY IST to Urgench, overland to Tashkent then HY to BKK later. Will have to be revenue fares as no one partners with Uzbek Airlines.

Trying to combine FNQ and Outback Australia into one mega road trip for July-Aug-Sept before I get too old to be able to drive long distance. Worried about fuel prices in Outback regional towns.

Sumba and Flores via Bali won't be an issue, easy to get tickets on a sale.
I gleefully pounced on a Qsuite DOH BNE I booked with AA miles. I still need TAS-DOH in Y using 7.5k Atmos with a day layover to visit Doha. It was easy to cancel the DOH-MCT-BKK with no penalty. Now hopefully MH will have a schedule change so I can cancel BKK-KUL-BNE with no penalty from QF.

I might postpone the Mega Outback to 2028 as it will need more real money and not points sensitive and do BNE-NOU-BNE using Atmos instead, A real bargain at 15k RT each!

Daughters family want to go to VN for first time. +1 and I been several times so have organised a tailored 3w private tour north to south for the group for 2027. Revisit some places, some new places.

Itching to do more. +1 getting leave is always an issue

Still procrastinating over Iceland, Greenland, Norway. Will probably be a cruise(s) given the costs of alternate.

Also tour to different parts of China not been to before. Interested in where they shot Avatar movies.
