It was McLarens to lose…..Oh well, less points than deserved for Oscar….
McLaren pit wall…..hhmmm
Oscar a very icy “Speechless…..” over his radio to Stallard sums it up
Speculation hat is on here, but they couldn't double stack without impacting Lando and so "it wouldn't have been fair". That and track position in Qatar is king, and I guess I have to also think they didn't expect everyone (except Ocon, RIP) to pit.Can someone explain why McLaren did what they did?
What was the potential upside.
I know nothing about F1 other than the drivers are nuts and the cars don't have V8
It's a MotoGP circuit originally, and designed as suchI don’t understand how Qatar, a comparatively new race track, was designed with so few overtaking opportunities. It’s almost Monaco in the desert.
Sorry, could you Please Explainᵀᴹ for the dummies please thanksbut they couldn't double stack without impacting Lando and so "it wouldn't have been fair". That and track position in Qatar is king, and I guess I have to also think they didn't expect everyone (except Ocon, RIP) to pit.
Sounded like Qatar track is very fast so difficult to overtake?? So opposite of Monaco but same consequence? It’s almost Monaco in the desert.
Double staking is when both of the team’s two cars go into the pits at the same time.Sorry, could you Please Explainᵀᴹ for the dummies please thanks

Don't other teams have >1 car as well? This disadvantage the second car.
No idea what all this means. The Imola swap (+- 3 Oscar Lando), the Silverstone Penalty (+- 7 Oscar Lando), Spain red mist (+9 Max)

Yes all teams have 2 cars, and some of the second cars had to wait (double stack) until the leading car in the team ( first car into the pits) had its tyres changed.Don't other teams have >1 car as well?
Could competing interests - constructors championship vs individual championship have affected what McL decided to do?
NO - personallyOK, you’re opinions on this scenario:-
PIA needs to (at a minimum) beat both VER and NOR in Abu Dhabi to win the Championship.
VER has to score 12 more points than NOR to win.
NOR simply has to finish on the podium to win.
What happens if in the final lap, VER is leading and PiA a distant second, but NOR is in fourth.
PIA cannot win the championship from that position but if he lets NOR pass him, then his team mate wins the WDC.
Does PIA give up his position to enable NOR to claim the championship?

In that scenario, yesIf PIA lets NOR through would it mean PIA is off the final race podium?
MCL will win the teams championship regardless and would like NOR to give them the double. In that scenario, yes
