Card Promotions New ANZ Frequent Flyer Black 110,000 points & $100 back

I've just cancelled my ANZ Qantas FF Platinum card last month after getting my bonus points - I'm assuming that I'll be eligible for the ANZ Rewards card (ie. not QFF, but ANZs own rewards points program)?
Yes to all your ?’s

i don’t have many years missed on mine and +1’s credit file :).

The Rewards card is great at 1 point per $ spent for VFF

You just have to plan your overseas travel around card cancellations, so you don’t miss out on coverage (if your travelling)

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks guys, this might be my new CC in April/May (I've cancelled 3 cards within 3 months so hence taking a little break, even despite my credit score going up after cancellation).

I've got an existing Qantas Premier Platinum (from Qantas) and all my travel is put on that card instead so I'll have Travel Insurance from that card.

I do want to diversify my points to VFF as well, not just QFF hence the thought of applying for Velocity or Rewards cards. I guess with rewards cards I'm not just limited to VFF, but also KF and AM (CX) etc.

I've got 5 figures of QFF points but only 4 for both VFF and AM. Guess it's good to diversify for more options.

Yes, it’s 100k and $250 back in Year 1, plus extra 30k if you stick around for Year 2. I am still rotating the Frequent Flyer black and Rewards black every 12-18 months .
For new or existing customers I think, yes. But not the 160k points promo for existing bank account holders?

the 160k is now 100k for new customers.

Existing customers holding the same type of card will never get bonus points.

I'll be going into the branch on Saturday to lodge an application for the FF Black, has anyone found an in person branch application to be more successful?

You won't be able to do that
One of their Australia based call centre people told me over the phone I could...

Though...looking at the website it says I'll need to apply online, get an application number and then can bring my documents into branch. If someone in the branch is looking at the documents (rather than just sending them off to the same place) that would still be better!

Not at all. Branches don't look at the documents or assess the application. They will forward them on though.

You are much better uploading or emailing as part of the online application process.

The Branch will most likely look at nothing (i.e., certainly not processing/assessing the application, as such) and just post-office what is submitted to them. This could probably slow things down a bit, using hard copies. May suit those who are not computer savvy or who are unable to upload documents.

Please let us know how you go at the Branch

I'm going to call up tomorrow first and try and speak to someone else. If they give me different advice then I'll just apply online...

Hi all
Newbie here

Just checked on ANZ site and seems like the 100k points and $250 cash back (that's what I am pretty sure it was?!?!?) has been downgraded to 90k points and $200 cash back. :(

Yeah lots of devaluations happening in the credit card space.

anyone had any recent application experience with this one? looking for my next churner, just wanting any recent experience feedback, as my last experience with ANZ CC was several years ago but from memory wasn't a great one.

(excellent credit score 1000+, $140k+ FT salary, no major debts or dependents..)
I was approved for this ANZ Black card month or so ago. Am slightly less qualified then your figures and was no sweat, easy peasy, hassle free.

Hadn't had an ANZ card for 2 years and do churn few cards a year.

Bonus points to drop next week.

In the bag for you I'd say.

Need more info than the above (pre-edit) to be able to say for sure but provided not a crazy amount of existing credit I doubt it will an issue. I was approved for this a month ago and it was straight forward. This is the 6th time I’ve held this specific card in the last 10 years. Have also held other ANZ cards during this time.
