When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, 'Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit.'

And why not, darling?'

'You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning.'

I was quite shocked when I first studied Italian that I had to learn lots of words for "the". I can still remember most of the rules even though I haven't studied the language in over 30 years.
Not really humour (unless one thinks the French are humourous) but interesting in light of the discussion.
