PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

What's the availability look like
I applying business class upgrade? Is it Worth it?

J C D and I are all classes of business. I is the cheapest with J the most expensive. The fact that they are still selling I class is a good sign that business is not that full yet but the flight is still a way off.

3 Jan is an interesting date. Mid week and I wouldn’t expect much business travel and it’s a touch early for the holiday returns so the chances of an upgrade coming through could be quite good

OK I will check again when closer to date.

A quick question - do Qantas let you know if you have been unsuccessful in the T-24 lottery or do they just keep you hoping and hanging...

Some people have had notification early (eg, 8 hours out) but I think most receive nothing as there can be late changes. Depends also on whether it is international or domestic.

Outbound from Australia to L.A. I was notified about 24 hours before departure that my upgrade request had been successful, but I've heard nothing this time for QF94 L.A. to Melbourne on Friday 14th - it's now about T-22.

Not a good sign but could still happen. There's plenty of reports of upgrades happening without any notification. But more reports of unsuccessful requests with no notification. Part of the lottery.

Hi all

Could someone please check loadings for QF23 from SYD to BKK on Wednesday 26 December?
2 of us booked in Y and have applied for upgrade to J - WP currently so fingers crossed (assume reasonably full in Y and probably a few WPs onboard anyway so chances slim as usual on this route)…

Many thanks

Would be grateful if someone could check loadings on these two flights. Wan tg to know how full J is on QF flight and how many seatmates I have in F on my BA flight.
25 Dec QF517 Bne to Syd
25 Dec BA 16 Syd to Sin

Many thanks

Thank you very much, seems weird so many J seats are unsold but that's good news for me hopefully, provided there aren't many P1/CLs on the flight requesting upgrades.
