Hmmm... I thought the etiquette was that the passenger in the middle seat got to use both armrests?

The big question though is why do only 20% think it is acceptable to have a drink prior to a morning flight when on holidays?

I would say middle seat gets armrests but I've come across many sitting there who simply do not care and spread out elbows as well.

Teetotalers? Nothing wrong with vodka or gin and tonic early in the morning. And I love EK to 3K connections as I can get a few of the little spirit bottles from EK....

I like a vodka anytime...not matter what time of the day or year it is -- as long it's a Belvedere Chink'

I have no problems with the middle-seat victim parking their elbows on (but not beyond) the armrests. But they need to choose the front/middle/back of the armrest, because i may want to use it too. And don't even thing about raising the armrests because they are the DMZ.

Not to mention people from that part of the world who also like to man spread.
If you do not know what man spreading is, google it..,
I have given up ever having the middle arm rest when travelling in Y.
Just lean against my window one, and try to sleep against the wall like a homeless, or do my cross word puzzles leaning against the wall of the plane!

To quote Jim Jefferies: “Window gets an armrest and a wall. Middle gets two armrests. Aisle gets an armrest and a little bit of extra leg[room]. We’re not f*cking animals. We live in a society.”

Simples.

Does middle seat also get to spread their newspaper across into aisle and window? Coz that’s what happens if they are reading with both elbows on the armrests.

This why I try to take a husband with me ...he gets all the dramas and I get to have his arm rest... :)
He has to take middle
The day I have to take middle seat is the day we stop flying as a couple.

I get aisle seat. Wife can them choose her own seat including another aisle seat but she chooses middle seat.

P.S. If you see our sizes you'd understand why that's the case.

I am plus size...husband isn't:)
My son is regular size but 6 foot so he tends to take an outside seat. His wife is tiny and petite and is comfortable in any seat .
So I can relate to disparity in sizes:)
