So the first official contest of 2014 is run and won and we see Geelong get up with virtually last kick of the game to beat Collingwood by 2pts - one can only hope a precursor of things to come in 2014 (Not necessarily focusing on the Cats here).

Had to fiddle a bit with the title as the AFF flame off tool wanted to have its way with an all caps title.

Anyhoo, did not watch -thought about it, but had other tasks.

Might watch the Hawks a bit tomorrow but really the results don't count for much.

Will serfty be providing a 2014 footy tipping competition?
Sure! I'll have a look at it tomorrow!

Congratulations to the two AFL tipping winners who tied this year with a score of 152 correct, just in front of three others on 151.

Memo to penegal: Just checked serfty's table - 11 penegal 94 - might I suggest you formulate your tips pre an assault on that el-cheapo plonk you have been buying from Vinomofo!

Why? Didn't your heart relocate to Coathanger City at the same time your love child flew the coop?
Actually, no - while a very good player and will be missed somewhat, nowhere the value to the Hawks that the red and white are paying.

Looking more to dead eye Gunston (memories of Jase, just skinnier) and perhaps Spanhanger (although the latter is more of a long shot.)

I think St Kilda is going to under perform for a few more years especially with the good players leaving the club.

Will lose interest in the Footy but will still be participating in the tipping comps as usual.

I would suggest more that the member actually enter tips every week - those away team defaults are a killer.

(Of course, I can't talk - I missed two weeks - once while in Japan and the other while in Florida.)

Anyway, here is a link to join the comp (those in last year should have been automatically rejoined):

I'll give you a tip serf - Buddy looked SPECTACULAR in the red and white last night - pity he didn't get near the ball all night but!

Anyways clearly your mob knew they had to move Buddy on as they couldn't afford Clarko's new contract and keep Buddy at same time.

Clarko's contract doesn't come under the salary cap - the can certainly afford it.

other than that - see post #8 ...

I gave up a few weeks into last year. The many weeks of default tips surely didn't help my score
