That's happened to me before when my flights weren't properly ticketed/confirmed. I assume your's are but it would be worth confirming if you went through an agent or 3rd party.

We've travelled the same legs with two under 2 and managed to pack enough snacks (crackers, dried fruit, etc.) that combined with helpings from our meals, there was more than enough for them. We always found the crew quite happy to help out with requests for snacks also.

I had the same problem... phoned up the FF line and they sorted it out in under a minute.
