Anyone keen on a drink or two to send off the last revenue flight:

Flight: QF692 late afternoon.

Hell no. I hate those things.

Good riddance!

:)

Can't stand the 734.

In fact, it was this aircraft that turned me off QF after some god awful SYD-BNE rev J flights.

734 is all kinds of awesome.

Rows 4-6
Hit head on screens
Feels more powerful on takeoff
Always JASA available as nobody wants to upgrade on them

Perhaps a send off could involve waving to the aircraft from the comfort of the lounge as opposed to travelling on her :D

If one were cynical then perhaps booking a JQ flight to allow lounge access (and reflect on the likely future path of QF...)

I could do that... gives me a reason to visit ADL briefly and there's a sale on tonight. There go my savings!

Getting A/C D/F in economy with a shadow in the forward rows can be alright but the B/E seats are absolutely awful. The coat hook things are a good idea.

Out of curiosity, where is it noted that this is the last service? And it could be subbed too right!

Thinking of flying down Friday afternoon to ADL, overnight there, plane spotting/lunch on Saturday and the flight, then I'm unsure if I want to stay in MEL or head straight home!

I have researched 4 months ahead and indeed they are the last currently scheduled operational 734 services.

I've had a cider in the lounge and am willing to take the gamble.

Also gives me a shot at the 1 million point comp and I get 1.5x SC, though this year is pretty much over, waiting for March.

Am happy to hear after landing suggestions as I'm not going to book my return, but could stay or buy a cheapie home.

I just realised this conflicts with the GC BBQ argh!

Had to look at my calendar (instead of the empty iMac calendar in the J lounge calendar) after I booked!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I quite enjoyed 1A in First class MEL-PER, also PER-ADL-MEL and 1F MEL-BNE on these back in the 90's.

It was only in 94/95 that they insalled the CRT Video entrertainment - prior to that it was audio and magazines.

Obviously AFFers don't need much of an excuse to have a drink but they need a real good reason to hop on a 734:D

FWIW, back then rows 1 & 2 were NOT convertible seats - they were dedicated "First" seats (rows 3-7 were convertible).
