Connecting to a Domestic flight from F

Most Significant Carrier. A IATA regulation defines whose rules (for things like baggage) apply when their are multiple carriers on a ticket.

Cheers.
So just to clarify, the baggage allowance would be as per the carrier who's flight is of a (significantly) longer duration ?

Yep. Not 100% sure if it has to be on the same ticket though? My vague memory says even separate tickets should be ok if you're connecting but I wouldn't be betting on it.

Yes but must be on the same ticket. Try to get the AA agent to book you through to MEL on QF. I find it easiest with them to identify via EF etc the Award seats and feed them the flights.
(Apologies if you are totally familiar with this)

Yeh well if I can get it through AA then that's the way I would go about it - It's pretty much a J domestic thrown in for free. It would save me from having to organise my own connection and also would then be on the same PNR to minimise the risk of hassles.

Thanks everyone for your help, much appreciated.

But I suppose if I get the QF connection to MEL then chance I would be able to use EYs chauffeur drive in Melbourne is there ? Maybe I'm just getting greedy lol

There are no QF2/10 flights available from DXB to either MEL or SYD on QF on the days I want to fly.
That's why I had to turn to EY - QR and CX don't offer F to MEL that I'm aware of.

I have the dates and flight numbers ready (though from KVS - find it much easier to use than EF).

Apologies what I meant to say was book you AUH-SYD-MEL.

Good luck :)
