On recent trip, I had made change to the first outbound segment and as a consequence paid $150 but little did I know that change the change left my booking on following segments to cancel. For the second segment at the airport the check in agents wouldn't let me board. They kept communicating to US Airways to issue new ticket and waited 60 minutes before departure but ticket was not produced. The flight was closed.
In a nutshell, I had to return to my hotel and I called US Airways. They then re-booked me on other flights. (With US airways stuff-ups they don't care about over 24-hour transits.)
I would advise anyone who has made changes to their journey to check directly with the other carrier(s) to be sure all is okay with remaining segments. Never assume.
