Isn't there an EK operated codeshare from MEL or SYD to KUL?
Indeed! Flew the MEL > KUL leg the other night operated by EK but having a QF code on my ticket.
Awaiting for points & SC to post, but very confident I won't have any hassle with this, as correct status & QFF number quoted on the boarding pass.
I was expecting the 777 to be horrible ( due to it's reported 10 across in Y ) , but as the plane was only half full did have a shadow & manage 40 winks. ( A fellow passenger was snooring his head off a few rows back, so hence just the 40 winks)
When I woke up from my micro sleep, I noticed a priority pass coupon for KL immigration on the tray table next to me, which again I thought was top-notch, I didn't even ask for it !
CSM, approached me before the doors closed & only moments after taking my seat for the standard, & highly professional greeting, which I thought was outstanding.
I have strong suspicions On my return leg tonight though, I'm not expecting the luxury of a shadow ( no economy seats for sale for today's flight when I last looked yesterday on either QF or EK) , seat availability in Y for seat allocation was literally non existent too.
But I'm thinking if I get home OK, I will look into another trip to KL should the chance arise again, the flight times may not work for all that has to be said, but unlike SYD , MEL airport doesn't come to a grinding holt for 7 hours each night, with careful consideration it can work for some travellers who are prepared to rough it in the terminal for a couple of hours.
