MH Golden Holidays - tours

I'm looking at a MH J status run to PEN and staying for 4 nights booking a Golden Holidays package - when you look at the cost of booking flights alone it means the 5 star hotel is basically free.

When I click through it offers the option to book tours, e.g.:

• Round Island Discovery
• City Tour
• Hill & Temple Sightseeing
• Heritage Trishaw Trail
• War Museum Adventure

I'm booking exHKG, and tour prices range from HKD$110-$330 (except $770 for a scuba diving tour and $720 for the all-day orangutang tour).

Has anyone had experience booking these tours through MH before or elsewhere? How does this pricing compare to what might be available booking myself with the operators or through hotel concierge and paying in MYR?

They apparently book into D and Z Class, so according to the QFF earn table they should.

Does the minimum points guarantee on QF flights not apply to holiday packages booked through QF Holidays? I thought the minimum points guarantee applied to all commercial services - obviously excluding things like Captain's Tour.

Minimum points applies to all flights that earn points! Which is not always the case with holiday packages, although these days many do earn.
